I really loved Arrival too! At first i tjought, "Dang, this movie is kinda slow paced!" But then it pays off so well! Prisoners is really really good. I forgot he was behind that movie. Will have to check out Sicaro.

yeah, my gf and i talked about arrival yesterday again, and
realizing in the end, how it's constructed to suprise the viewer,
the soundtrack and ofc the phenomenal images. great, great movie.
