Chiaki is a debbie-downer. He feels like he doesn't fit in at Yoshioka and tends to keep to himself. Because of his father's unsupportive relationship, he's easily jealous of other's family and friends, pushing away people who try to get close to him. Those that are 'close' to him don't know much about him either. When he meets new people he tends to heck up his words, not knowing what may be too rude to say. He gets nervous and excited and speaks quickly. He tries to joke with you at first, but it comes off snarky and inconsiderate, though he doesn't mean to be. If he finds that he said too much he'll stop and apologize and think twice about approaching the person in the future.

- Running, perhaps the only thing he feels he can really do.
- Photography, has the tendency to go out by himself to take photos. He hangs a lot of his photography in his room, he's actually quite proud of them, more so than any trophies he may or may not have from running. He doesn't like talking about this with other people though.
-Drums, used to play with a set as a kid but can't be bothered to even play them now, grew out of the phase. The set is still pristine and he can't bring himself to throw it out.

History:

Chiaki was an everso quiet child growing up. Born to a modest family of four, he had his parents and his brother to rely on. Being the younger of the two sons, Chiaki received all of his brother's hand me downs, from old shirts that were worn so often you could barely make out the initial graphic to pants that never quite fit right to shoes that just never felt his.This was alright though, nothing too bothersome.

Chiaki's father was a professional baseball player prior his back injury forcing him to retire to another occupation. When his sons were born, he was eager to teach them the joys of baseball. From a young age, Chiaki and his brother were trained with the mindset that they were both going to play sports like their dad. They were taught the foundations of baseball; running, pitching, catching, and batting. His father was very proud of both of them, until Both Chiaki and his brother excelled at different things, Chiaki in running, and his brother in batting. When they began to show their strengths, Chiaki's relationship began to weaken with his father, as he paid more praise to his brother. This continued in junior high when his brother was the apple of his father's eye, taking up baseball and following in his father's footsteps. Chiaki's relationship with his father grew estranged. When Chiaki chose to stray from baseball and pursue cross country, he began to bicker more with his father. What is the point to pursue something you had lost a passion for? Arguments increased between the two when his brother got an invitation to Yoshioka for baseball. They argued on and off about whether or not he should pursue cross country. His father told him it wasn't a real sport, it had no one to beat, and no one to work with. When it was time for Chiaki to enter High School, he received an invitation from Yoshioka as well, because he was his father's child. The both, irritated that he had received the invitation.

"If he isn't pitching or batting balls, that ain't a son of mine."

"I don't have to play baseball to be an athelete."
