My budgie Sammy. It's my first drawing of him coloured on Photoshop. I'm quite impressed with the result.This is for my mum's birthday in Feb.

I admit that I like the feet, but that may be in part that I fail when I draw my own budgies' feet. I love the way you did the stripes om the head and wings- I always found that hard as well. The head looks good and represents the position of the bird well, but I think the back of the head could be worked on some. (Although I'm not sure here, it was more something that just looked off to me, but it's probably spot on. I've been wrong so many times before! Sorry if I am) The cheeks also look good, but the feathers could use a little more variation on their fringe, as well as behind the legs, although I like the colour change between the blue and the white, and the attention to detail around the legs and feet. The left nostril (left for the budgie) is also a touch too close to the edge, but the shading and detail there is admirable. (Might I also add he is a very cute bird) I might also add that, as strange as this sounds, I haven't seen anyone draw a budgie in this particular position before.

Well it does really depend on the individual, but overall males are much more likely to learn than females.

I'm curious to know: how were you able to draw such a clear picture of your budgie when the little guys move all the time? I only wish to know because I want to be able to draw my own budgie like this, but can never find how to do it

Well I managed to take a photo of mine so I used the photo as a reference.
I hope your budgie's not camera shy. XD
(though I think my cockatiel is a little though I still get some pretty good shots of him)

It's not hard. Nothing is really hard with drawing, just time consuming. I wouldn't say tedious, just time consuming.
Photos are the best reference after the actual budgie itself, so you should start taking photos!

Wow lovely! It's a nice mix of cartoon and realism. I like that. I think normal budgies are hard because of the shell patterns on their wings.

He looks like my girl. But now,when I saw a budgie like
her I start to cry because she escaped in a summer night
and I miss her so much. She had the same color,face and
she was a genius! She can escape from the cage but in
that night I put a towel over the cage and this don't
stopped her....
I miss her....
