Description
This photo was taken at a place I volunteered at for two weeks in South Africa.
These two leopard cubs are named Florence and Felicia. Leopards are hard to tame and these two weren't planning on becoming nice and cuddly. We could pick them up and cuddle with them, but we had to watch out for their teeth and claws. Florence once bit my lip so I started bleeding, now it is a scar (but it's hardly visible). We went into the leopards' enclosure all the time, and I liked to lay on the grass in there. It was funny, because when the leopards thought you weren't paying attention, they would sneak up on you and attack you. Most of the times this happened to me, I saw them coming so I caught them as they jumped. Other times, I suddenly had a leopard on my head. When they got tired, they would lay down to rest and it was finally safe to cuddle them. Florence hurt his leg one day, and when he came back from the vet, he was so drowsy, I just cuddled him so much. Poor thing. It's hard to be a fearsome leopard.
