Sally diddnt die. SEGA owns Sally, so they got pretty pissed off at Archie for it, so they made them bring her back. So they had Eggman roboticize her dead corpse, then they are going to deroboticize her and then we have Sally again.

Flynn said she was dead? Now I know he's a lying rat. Because not only isn't Sally dead, she's not only slaved to the Eggman, she's not only hated by the entire community in the comics, she's being threatened with torture. Honestly, death would be a blessing now.

It's the shocks I'm complaining about. Flynn's style of writing is what killed WCW, a once-thriving wrestling promotion, when it was used by Vince Russo. Now, Archie's not making the money WCW was, but it's still gonna lose big money if they allow Flynn to keep this shit up.

The best way to write a good story is to go after the main characters love int rest. All this is is character development. Amy mind is still 11 years old and Sonic is 17. Amy only physically magically aged herself using the ring of acorns. Just blame it on Sega of Japan for originally making her 8 in Sonic CD while Sonic was 15. Archie uped her age to 11 and that still felt to low.
Like Danielle J. said, in the fan letter section of Sonic comic 226, "I have nearly all 225 comics, and Sally is my favorite. I know she is not in the games, but please don't kill her off, and for the love of all things holy, DO NOT LET SONIC END UP WITH AMY!!! She is too young for him . I know she wished herself older, but that is still creepy."
Sally was made before Amy and Sally actually grew up with Sonic, so they know each other well unlike that fan girl, Amy.

Yeah... not always. The characters have to be emotionally and mentally compatible for them to work together.
Sally and Sonic aren't emotionally compatible due to Sonic being about freedom and Sally being the emotionally dependent type.
Also: nostalgia has nothing to do with good writing.
All you fans try making the argument "they grew up together" or "they liked each other first"
Quite frankly, the idea that people who fall in love will always end up together is wishful thinking.
Second I HOPE you realize that mentally Amy has grown up even then. It's hard to use the mental argument when the character has actually grown up mentally too as the years went by.
Originally she was mentally 11, but how many years have passed since then? Plus the fact that Amy has matured other than just the years passing too: fr all we know Amy can be mentally anywhere.
And ugh. You actually reference fan mail?
Then I have a quote from Redmenece of SEGA forum:
"Sonic and Sally are complete foils of one another. One is reckless, the other is careful. One is outspoken, the other is repressed. One is wild, the other is tame. One is free as the wind, the other as bound to responsibilities. One is confident in himself, the other is full of issues. One is independent, the other is dependent. The last reason is why Sally copes with Sonic. He's her escapism mechanism. She doesn't like what she is and what it represents. She longs for what he is (*cue laughing at feminists who think she's such a great example*). However, why does Sonic cope with Sally?
Sonic and Sally had the hots for each other since episode 0, issue 0. There was no buildup, because from Sonic's part, there could never be. Sonic likes who is. Even when his plans fails, Sonic is stubborn and will always try his way later, never Sally's way. It's obvious he doesn't even secretly appreciate that kind of behaviour. If he likes someone, it's because there's something that he relates to. That's how Sonic is wired. Take the example of the most obvious difference. Sonic is reckless and loves it. Being careful is no fun and he grows boring pretty fast. How can he appreciate being careful? He can't. It's against his personality. Yet he loves Sally, a contradiction. Fans think this is a great love story, but truthfully, it's just a big travesty. They like each other because the writers say so (at least from Sonic's part).
The generic foil routine people hail as so awesome is something good romance writers have always avoided, deconstructed or downright made fun of (the oldest and most known, probably Jane Austen) because it doesn't work neither in real life nor in fiction. It always brings forth doubts of why each would share the same space for more than a couple of minutes.
The only interesting and well founded interaction between two people who are foils is if at least one antagonizes the other. This is why heroes and villains are usually foils of one another and take great pleasure in kicking the crap out of each other. In a functional friend relationship this will not work, let alone in a romantic one when you need compromise to work. Sonic compromising? The thought alone is ridiculous.
There are other interactions, such as one foil compensating his insecurities by comparing himself to the other foil. In words, Sonic feeling superior because he thinks he's better than Sally. But this doesn't fit Sonic either. Another interaction would be Sonic liking Sally because under all that crap she is, she's kind of like him too. However, this doesn't fit Sonic either. He can't like a repressed character, no matter how much she's like him. The fact she's repressed is against his ideology. Nothing fits.
Sonic liking Sally is a contradiction considering his personality. The writers make an exception however, and so they're portrayed as this perfect couple. Out of character characterization, bad writing, bad portrayal, bad setting. There are a lot of misconceptions about love in fiction, but this one is one of those that take the cake completely."
At any rate. This had NOTHING to do with the conversation... it starting to just become spam...

Amy has matured has gained character development. That's what I was saying to the other dude's on this forum here, who make the lie up that Sally steals the spot light from Sonic. Amy is even about to be more focused on according to Ian. Anyway, My point is Amy is still a kid in the head even though she has matured she is still an eleven year old child dating Sonic a 17 year old like the person in the fan letter section of 226 said, "Amy's mind is still 11 years old it is still creepy."
"How can he appreciate being careful? He can't. It's against his personality. Yet he loves Sally, a contradiction. Fans think this is a great love story, but truthfully, it's just a big travesty. They like each other because the writers say so (at least from Sonic's part)."
Haven't you ever heard of "Opposites Attract?" That's why Sonic and Sally are good for each other, because they have something the other is lacking and they fill that void. Opposites attract=Sonic and Sally. Example like when Sonic was about to fight Monkey Kahn in front of everyone at the stadium. Sally had to correct him. There is time and a place for acting like that and doing it in front of the crowd was not the place. See, Sonic dees need Sally. Usually Sally is the calm one but she almost lost it and blamed herself when the Iron Queen took over Mobotropoilus but it was Sonic who calmed her down. Sonic is still himself and Sally is still herself they may have there own personailties but you can tell they rub off on each others personalities. Sally was there to cheer Sonic up when he felt guilty about breaking Eggman. So there is actually more to Sonic and Sally's personality than one might think. Like Sonic wanting to bust through to fighting the Iron queens computer system and Sally saying be my guest. Sally doesn't always hold Sonic back just when it's appropriate like the Stadium thing. It's good thing that Ian shows both Sonic and Sally as flawed characters it would be boring if it wasn't.
"Sonic and Sally had the hots for each other since episode 0, issue 0. There was no buildup, because from Sonic's part, there could never be."
First of all Mike Gallagher sucks as a Sonic writer. All he cared about was money. He didn't event do enough research on the Sonic cartoon. He just made Sonic a lame Bugs Bunny rip off. Ken Penders, even though he is a sucky hack writer, adapted the Sonic Satam story elements into the comic and sort of retold what mike gallagher already written. I like Ian Flynns version of Sonic. Ian did his very best as he slowly restored what the comic should have been about. I didn't even read Mike Gallaghers or Ken Penders stuff, because it's hot garbage in my opinion.
"It's obvious he doesn't even secretly appreciate that kind of behaviour. If he likes someone, it's because there's something that he relates to. That's how Sonic is wired. I believe Sally knows this. That's probably why she doesn't follow him around all the time and gives him his space. Like when Sonic went to anti mobius with Amy Sally didn't tag along with him. Or when Sonic went on those adventures with Blaze, Rotor, and Bunnie.Sonic has more of a 3 dimensional character than his video game counter part, which is one dimension. The Sonic in this comic is just not the same Sonic in the video game. The comic would have gotten old quick. Sonic has gladly asked Sally in the past what the plan was before. Sonic is free spirited and Sally does give him his space. They personalities are different which is great, because opposites do attract. They are good for each other.

ON Opposites Attract:
Again a quote by REDMENCE: He called it the Foil Routine. The Foil Routine is the Opposites Attract idea:
"The generic foil routine people hail as so awesome is something good romance writers have always avoided, deconstructed or downright made fun of (the oldest and most known, probably Jane Austen) because it doesn't work neither in real life nor in fiction. It always brings forth doubts of why each would share the same space for more than a couple of minutes."That's his opinion, and the Sonic SatAM fans that kept this comic going loves the opposites attract theme. The thing is this ain't a romance novel it's an all ages comic book and guess what it is successful. In my opinion, It would be boring if you date someone who has the same traits as you do. Sonic and Sally are opposites which is important and it is not like they are completeley opposite to the T. Ian has shaken things up between them, which is what life is about between couples. There are some unsuspecting moments that have occurred between Sonic and Sally. Example Sonic is usually the reckless one, and Sally the calm one. Sonic actually had to calm Sally down before when she was blaming herself.
Opposites attract dosen't mean that your so different that you fight all the time, it just means you have different taste. Maybe in how you do things, your personality, or your attitude. It is far more interesting in my opinion for Opposites to be together. How boring it would be if Sonic was with someone who the personailty similar. To his. And is not like Sally follows him around and assist him in all of his battles, because that is just not true.-No matter what the game fans say. The games have Amy for Sonic and comics have Sally. I believe Amy would eventually get Sonic in the games most likely the final Sonic games, because she is the love interest in the game cannon. Sonic is still his Sonic SatAM self in the comic. Sonic still loves his chilly dogs, he is still free spirited, he still cares about all his friends, he has his flaws, and he has a 3 dimensional personality, even though he has a girlfriend. Sonic and Sally fills in the gaps that there own personality lacks. They are great for each other and they give each other space. Ian writes the comic like a Sonic fan boy and there is nothing wrong with that. I am on the edge of my seat right now wondering what is going to happen next.
