All this talk of having a boy also gets Banzai thinking of some of the longterm complications. Shenzi puts his mind at ease...and their decision of what to name their cub is made offscreen to be revealed later.
Really though, there was no way Shenzi was going to send her only cub away in these bad conditions. And Banzai wouldn't want to because he wants to spend as much time as possible with his cub since he didn't get to spend enough time with his dad.
