Thaniel is the kind of Guy you meet at a Tavern in Tusa and you either drink together till the Sun rises over the Oasis, or you wish you had entered another Tavern. Fact is, he is loud and tends to drink a lot.
He loves fun and a good brawl, which for him means both the same. It often happens that the one he threw a bottle at, soon was sitting beside him with a smile and a new and full bottle on the table.
Thing is he doesnt really look after himself, but the people he sees need it or are close to him. He often puts himself in great risk for the dumbest things, and has a strong sense for Equality. So sitting a night or two behind Prison Bars for punching a merchant who acted rude to a dancer, is a regular for him.
He is and never was invested in Politics, he tends to try and do things that are infront of him, with no abstract constructs like the bigger picture and stuff like that. Thaniel had no real education, this ofthen shines through, making him more of a streetwise person then a smart one.

History:

Thaniel was born in Estraud, as the son of a Wood Elven Embassador. His mother wanted to better the trade Situation with Tusa and Estraud and had been invited over for negotiations. The Airship route was one of the newest inventions back then, and as an Embassador she held the privilege to be on one of the first flights to Tusa. As it then turned out, the technology wasnt ready back then and the Ship crashlanded in the middle of the Vedmia Dessert. The landing took the life of many passangers, yet Thaniel survived nearly unharmed, as his mother protected him with her own body.

One of the many traveling tribes of the Vedmia desert saw the smoke and decided to investigate what happened. They found the crashsite and took as much as they could from the remains but as they were about to leave they heard cries between the bodys. A little elvan boy, held in the arms of a deseased wood elvan woman was crying, crying for its life to be heard. The tribefolk, werent comfortable towards elfs but would they not kill a helpless kid, or leave it to die out there. So they took him in, and became his new family.

He was treated as an outsider at first, but after time passed he became a member of the tribe like everyone else. They teached him their ways of life, and how to survive in the harshest conditions. It wasnt easy at times, but through the years he learned a lot. He learned to hunt, to read tracks, to make a fire, to dance and most noticable how to fight. The tribefolk had a strong connections to the desert and to the nature of it. They believed the only weapon you need to survive is what the Gods gave you at birth. Your Body. They tought him how to keep his body condition, and how to use it, but they didnt do it on pure selflessness. No, they decided early on that Thaniel had to leave the tribe when he was considered an adult in their eyes. As much as they were family, he couldnt stay with them. So when he reached the end of the training, he was made to an adult by ritual scaring on his back. Symbols all of the adults of the tribe had carved on their backs, making him a man who could survive on his own. A heartfelt farewell was all that was left, and he set out to find his own path.

After weeks of traveling through the desert, he finally found the place the Folk told him about. Tusa. It was a strange new place for him, something he had never experienced before. But would soon get to know.
Just after a day on the streets there, he realised he wasnt welcome there. The strange mixture of the desert clothing, and his undefinable elven looks made him a victim of racism, and soon after he ended up in the slums.
The slums were full of dangers, he didnt had to face before. Murder, robbery and blackmarkets seemed normal there, but for him it was nothing he could comprehend. After weks of sleeping on the streets and looking for something to eat everyday by begging or stealing he was ambushed by a group of shady lowlives who threatened him to give up all he got. He declined, and it ended in a fight for his live. Luckily, his training with the Tribe wasnt for nothing and he gout out of it, letting those robbers flee in pain. This started something he didnt expect as he soon became an offer from a black market dealer. They needed a bouncer, and Thaniel needed something to eat. So he accepted.

Years later, he worked his way up in the streets and became renowkn as the 'Desert Elf'. His fighting skills, and his honesty, made him a good man to hire for many of the shady merchants, as he wouldnt turn on them. But this was not the thing he wanted to do. When he earned enough knowledge about the World, and the Ways of Tusa, he left the illegal markets and started to offer his service to higher merchants, who needed protection from just the people Thaniel had worked so long with.

Now Thaniel is open for hire, for anyone who needs protection in Tusa.

- He has no house or home, but has a deal with a Tavern owner. Thaniel gets a permanent room, but he has to help if someone makes trouble
- His fighting Style is a mixed version of Boxing, and Muay-Thai, with a stronger focus on using the fists
- He cant read or write
- He speaks common with a strong dialect, and an older Version of Vikasa
- He sees himself not related to the Woold Elfs in anyway, and prefers the made up term Desert Elf to describe his heritage
- He is a very good dancer in traditional and tribal dances
- Since he discovered alcohol in Tusa, he got a bit of an overdrinking problem
- He has no memory of anything anymore before the crashlanding
