For Day 14 of KHanuary we have no.8 in the original Organization XIII known as Flurry of Dancing Flames and the man who wants to make sure you’ve “got it memorized”. His name is Axel.

“Go on, you just keep running. But I’ll always be there to bring you back!”

We first meet Axel, and the Organization as a group, in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, the first non-numbered title in the series, where he acts as a double agent, both fighting and helping Sora. He is also one of Roxas’ best friends, as they would always hang out eating ice cream after each mission. When Roxas defected from the Organization, Axel was sent out to bring him back to no avail. After Roxas reunited with Sora, he tried to bring him back by turning Sora into a Heartless, but in the end, he ultimately helped Sora in his last moments as a Nobody.

Now due to both his Heartless and Nobody getting destroyed, he’s human again, going by his old name Lea, and learning to use Keyblade alongside Kairi, in hopes of keeping his promise to bring his friends back.
