so it was an impromptu decision to join this contest, but i couldn't resist! this is a design entry for Akesis !

Nadia is a maned lioness! she is broad and bulky physically, but when she hunts she is incredibly graceful. when you first meet her she may be a little cold and stand-off-ish, but it is only to protect herself - get through her protective barrier and she is fiercely loyal, charming and thoughtful! i feel like a lot of younger lionesses might look up to her and wish to be her because she radiates confidence, but truth be told she doesn't always have all the answers and doesn't quite understand why others may idolize her.

she has her dorky moments which makes her feel embarrassed, but i feel like Ania would bring out the best in her!

my story for Nadia (which can obviously be changed) is that she was one of two cubs in her litter, the other being her brother Moka. they grew up the pride and joy of their father (the head of their pride), but their father was always a bit sleazy and only had his personal gains at interest. when Nadia and Moka were a year old their mother unfortunately passed away. their father did not mourn her passing much and instead made mates of several lionesses in the pride, leading to many more half-siblings. as Moka matured, their father grew wary of him, fearing for his position as king, and eventually exiled his son. there was also a lot of pressure on Nadia to find a male mate, to which she rejected profusely as she had no interest in male lions (which only her brother knew). after his exile Moka was devastated, and Nadia vowed to stay with her brother so the two left their pride together.

after some time, the two malnourished juveniles realised that they had very slim chance of survival without seeking out help from another pride. Nadia was hurt badly from a hunting accident where the two took on a water buffalo in a desperate attempt to get some food. seeing Pride Rock and knowing of the high power the pride that lived there possessed, Moka carried Nadia to the border, where that night he apologised to her and left her there, knowing that sooner or later another lion would pick up on her scent in their territory and hopefully help her. Moka was fearful that he would not be accepted into another pride as a young male, so he did what he thought was best by his sister. it's largely this abandonment (as well as the emotional detachment from her father) that caused Nadia to put up an emotional wall - but with the help and trust of Ania that wall can slowly be broken again.
