Description Almost done with the skill menu.

I should probably hide that "Learn Skill" button when the requirements aren't met...

Fun fact: I got through to the second boss in EBF3 without finding the skills menu. Just beat them with weapon and earth attacks, plus lucky star. You will not believe how stupid I felt.

Yeah, you should hide or grayout learn skill button.
There's no way to wide characters button so the full name Natalie will fit? That would be appropriate.
Also, all these unused buttons (goals, help, options, save, quit, kong, bah - we can fit nearly everything) can fit in the MENU section, aka ESC summoned tab. You would recover A LOT of space.
I hope that new skill tier unlock by investing max in the previous skill tier, not by just spending 1 point there.
Besides, ultimate skills should not be learned (imho), but scaled with level automatically.
Thx for reading.

3. those aren't unused, goal is probably used to keep track of quest, Help is probably hints and probably the bestiary and also the medals list, Save is needed, very much needed (Never played a game with a save system before? try imagining this : You just beat a secret boss, and obtained a Infinity+1 weapon, and then suddenly your mom called you to go get her something at the market, when you went to the market, your little cousin who is curious killed your character by battling without a clue, if you saved after what you have done, then you're save, but if the game don't have a save system? good luck starting over......), The quit button is usually used after saving to check the items that only can be checked in the main menu and all of those buttons just happen to be not viewed to us yet. We can REAAAAAALY DO without the kong button tho. (You probably should play EBF3....)

4. I agree with that, but it can be reversed, like if the skill required for the next skill is weak, then the skill learned will also be weak, so the formula would be like (SkillNeeded1's power+SkillNeeded2's power+SkillNeeded3's power*Stats [Mag for magic attacks, Str for physical, etc]*SkillLearned's power+SkillLearned modifier)

THank you for reading through this big chunk of texts

3. You're soooo much need to learn to read properly. I said ESC summoned tab. U press ESC, a new tab on the middle of the screen slide down, AND THERE YOU HAVE ALL THE OPTIONS. The only difference is that buttons are hidden till you press ESC.
4. Nope. Definitively nope. I say no to complicated equations needed to obtain new skill. You got your previous skill, with, let use random value - three stages of progress. And you cant obtain new skill from that 'tree' of skills until you max previous skill.

3. Alright, so I may missed your point, no need to discuss this any longer (What I meant to say is that the buttons are used) (And it's probably is already done, seeing how the menu appears at EBF3)
4. I never said it is needed to obtain it.... read the equation above, it's just the power of the skill, let me say it in normal way of saying things instead of equations, please look below
"The power of the skill learned is the power of the skill needed to learn it, times the stats it is related to, and then multiplied by the learned skill's base power and it's modifier (Like a skill that have fixed damage, or a skill that increases in power if a certain equipment is worn)"

Please read all of them before replying, if you don't you might misunderstand some things

Wait a sec. Ultimate skills SHOULD be learned, but once, and then scaled with level. Can be unlocked even by doing personal quests!

you should try making the "learn skill" button transparent and colorless, maybe with a "requirements not meeting" written in a second pop up above

I also hope this game, the bosses doenst tend to heal themselves so much as they did in the previous game xDD

(Please forgive me but I'm not very good with names, just try to figure out the items mentioned)
(Okay, you probably already passed it, but in case you want to get an easier fight when replaying from a scratch)
Desert Boss, the rock with a cannon one? Try reading it's scan data, it should be weak to thunder, so go with a Zapdos......... Okay you CAN'T go with a Zapdos, so be like it, make sure you get a thunder-proof armor (You may want to get some sidequest done to do this) as the beam is thunder based, get the thunder lance for Natz, the electric gun for Lance (It was in the desert area if I'm not mistaken in the medal room), and the thunder-elemental sword (In the village, in the weapon shop, the yellow dragon head), get the limit break meter full, then go banzai against it. If you noticed, you can guard to lower the damage, also go kill the medic first, those light runes are going to be a huge obstacle to beat this boss....

Matt can start with the multi-attack limit break and continue with spamming legend, limit breaking again whenever possible

Natz can either use any limit break she has or cast regen first then go thunder-spell the boss and heal allies when needed, restore her MP by using Matt, make sure she cast regen again when it's about to run out, revive allies ASAP, make use of Genesis's reviving power to revive the other two at once.

Lance can use any limit break except for nuke(Poison is useless against stones) and then use the thunder elemental series attacks, if you have good luck, you can also rely on airstrike.

Still have a hard time? Remember to train and use the stat buff items, and don't forget to forge (I played ten times through the game almost without forging ten equipments (Ain't using them much anyway....))

For Cosmic Monolith, go get a dark resistant equipments, my Matt and Natz gets 0 damage from it and my Lance even heals with it instead, it always use the laser at three turns count (Laser-attack-attack-laser) also, the bestiary data said it's resistant to syphon, well, it IS, but not 100% resistant, my friend with a luck that can almost be even with gladstone gander when it comes to game luck can syphon these guys almost every time he tries to, since it relies on magic attacks, once you syphon it, it's nothing but a target

ow, tnx for your tip ^^ although I already defeated that desert tank, using lots of AoE ataxcks to deal with the runes, I'm stuck in that monolith, now, you mentioned the syphon, I cant find any siphon skill, is that under anotehr name or is it an iten? I'd lkike to know where exactly the syphon, I cant find it D: I also need to review my itens to lok fro dfark resistant stuff

ZXSora In reply to ErgotthVonHohenheim [2012-06-15 02:21:10 +0000 UTC]

Syphon is a status effect, it seals your magic attack, Unleash your rune blade or use the Syphon skill it's in the forest medal area. dark resistant equipments will only allow you to negate the damage if it's fully upgraded, if not, you will still take damage, less than if you don't use them at all though.

I found the syphon spell, pretty usefull ^^ now I'm stuck with the tree-headed dragon xD no big deal, I have the strategy, just need a few lucky shots (its REALLY hard to make the syphon works on'em, but poisoning the healer and dispelling everytime it uses the Heal over Time is enough ^^ however, I lost to the remaining two heads, need to decide which one I defeat first =/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ZXSora In reply to ErgotthVonHohenheim [2012-06-16 03:01:30 +0000 UTC]

My strategy is:
Make sure Matt's weapon is a holy elemental (Heaven's gate, Rune Blade), Natz have a fully upgraded White Mage dress on, Lance can go however you want.

All Skills are better at their max, so I suggest you maximize it

Make sure the Limit Break Meter is full, Have Natz use Kyun first then have Matt Use the Combo Limit Break on the Dark head, after that, use Nuke(Make the Dark one harder, but this will go well on the long run), Heal the poison status if you got poisoned.

Have Natz cast Regen and then focus on the Dark head while using Natz' Toxic spell and Matt's Poison-Skill at the Light head once in a while, rely a bit on the White Mage Dress to heal up using Regen, Heal up using Natz's skills and use items when running out of MP, use coffee only when needed.

After the dark Head, Behead the Fire one, change Matt's Sword into one of it's weakness and have the rest of the party hammer it while he change his sword, continue as normal, except of course, use the elementals the fire one is weak of instead.

The light head should be pretty easy if you got through the other heads, just make sure to dispel it when is casts regen and go through the same tactic, use regen yourself to heal up rather than healing spells.

There is another way though, play rock-paper-scissors with it, have Natz equip light-based weapon and dark resistant armors and go after the Dark head, Lance with dark-based weapons with light-resistant armors against the Light head, and Matt with Ice-based weapon and fire-resistant armors against the Fire head, use regen in this strategy too

ErgotthVonHohenheim In reply to ZXSora [2012-06-16 07:59:42 +0000 UTC]

most likelly, i started with full limit break; to give "problems" to the Czar, I badly poisoned it(more than he can regem), and used Matt's insta-death limit break to get rid of the suicide monsters. holy sword followed by lots of Seikens from matt. Natz used lots of her kyun to debuff boss and buff the party, and whenever it was possible, lance used the Ion to cause heavy damage an cause MORE debuff to the dragon.

Czar poisoned, it was slowly dying while I killed the Abyssus, natz using Dispell anytime the dragon was buffed and using regem (and ironically, I was using regem A LOT), matt doing the heavy damage with natz as well, focusing in the kyum limit break, Lance was actually a huge support, using all recovery itens I was needing, along some evasion debuff, backup healing, Ion limit break and some cups of coffee on natz and matt when things got bad.

After abyss died, it was only flame and Czar (with barelly any HP left) it was quickly finished and flame was left, his "buff" last for only 1 second, as Natz had her dispell ready to fire. Luckilly, Matt has his insta-death limit break just when the flame called two additional monsters and got rid of'em both in a single hit (not to mention, that fire rain flame summons most likelly killed two pair of drones twice for me ) though I had some hard time with the fire breath, Matt used the defense buff skill a lot, combined with Natz's regem, we barelly had less than full HP in the last moments. the fight ended with Matt's iceberg right on that flame head chin =3 and I'm just lv 28.

also, my equips were Matt with his pirate cloak and kabuto helmet, Natz with armored dres (she was the only one who didnt die a single time) and the thunder spear (the counterattack happend a lot), Lance was with pilot helmet and his militar green cloathing, god's hand weapon in his back, though I wasnt using him for fighting that much to make diffenrence.

Now it's Akron's place, did you get any of the treasure in his dungeon yet?
All enemies there can be passed around
Make sure you scan, there's supposed to be at least three scans in Akron's battle, also the skeletal dragon before him can be scanned.

Akron can change elements, make sure to check via the scan results (You only need to scan him once, put your cursor on the "?" bubble to check it)

Oh, and, will it be possible to teach the same non-character-specific skill to several characters when replaying the game? I mean, like you give Power Metal to Matt in the first round, and, after beating the game and restarting, you teach it to Lance and then both of them have it. (It could be an unlockable option after getting certain amount of Medals )
