Description one of two unrelated game model characters i started on a whim yesterday because i'm stuck on the game models on a stupid maya thing & the detail of the strangelove model is hurting my eyes lol
anyhow this is just supposed to be a kung fu master old guy. he's from a story & basically he's eccentric & teaches people forms of 'ergonomic kung fu', specially making a style for that person to learn based on their personality traits & things like that... i dunno. just an odd idea i had. he's the grandfather of the two main, brother characters in the story. i didn't really give myself a poly limit, though it is a game model. i was thinking maybe something like a fighting game maybe, around 10k or so? characters seem to get more detailed in them seeing how they take two take up 2/3rds of a screen when you play. he's half that now but can still be optimized. for some reason i like where this one is going so i'm probably going to bang this one out quickly (but with quality lol) and maybe rig him up with some sort of nice setup & try to animate a little kata or something with him.

thanks. yeah it's a little more detailed than a typical game model. most of the polys are in teh face right now

Nice poly detail. Get the Bones right and he looks like he'll be able to do some realistic expressions.

thanks. i don't rig the face with bones though. i like blend shapes, if that's what you meant by expressions. but i'm trying to model him now to give him more of a easy to animate mesh. thanks
