At the time I drew this I really didn't. Not because of her character or design persay, but as I'm a hardcore Kris fan since the day I bought Crystal way back when. I'm indifferent now though haha

People have really invalid crap arguments for disliking a character like Lyra. I like her character very much and I think her overall color scheme fits in better with the graphics of HeartGold and SoulSilver.

I'm not really arguing for liking or disliking her now, but I was opinionated at the time for a complete replacement or redesign of my favourite Pokemon character ever in my favourite generation. However, when the game came out in America, I just ended up not really caring haha. She's actually kinda cute. Besides, I'll go with the Pokemon Special/Adventure explanation that she's still Kris, and got a makeover since that's the closest adaptation of the games there is (even if they do go off a bit).
But for a really invalid argument of not liking her, I really enjoy the "SHE'S A MARIO RIP OFF" one hahahaha

MAn, I remember the first time I played my old Crystal... when I saw there was a new choice, I wondered what it was. When it asked if you were a boy or a girl, I click girl, and see Kris's image later when asking for a name. I squealed in joy that I didn't have to keep playing a boy all the time... not that I minded, I just played the game for fun. It was nice to actually play as my own gender, though. XD
Kris will probably always be my favorite female protagonist to place. x3 Nothing against Lyra, it's just... Kris was the first girl. Her design was interesting, and she was the only girl with odd colored hair! >3 I loved her blue hair!

Kris was the shiz! I mean, I'm not a girl, but I ALWAYS played as Kris. I mean, I had Gold and Silver to play as a boy, but Kris was the first playable girl and all, so of course I was all on that.
Btw, did you ever know of Green? She was an actual planned playable character for the First Gen, but was unused. There is official Ken Sugimori artwork of her, and she later made her debut in the Pokemon Special (Adventures) manga series.
At least she was made into "Leaf" or for the FireRed LeafGreen remakes. Poor Kris...she didn't even make it :C
