I don't understand that, nor have I ever heard of it.
Though with herd animals, cows, sheep, pigs, ect, it is very common to tag their ears with specially labeled and numbered "piercings" so the owners can keep track of what animal is what.

People pierce their pets?! Ok, I get an anthro/furry character with piercings seeing as: 1. they would have that choice 2. They're human-like and 3. Their fictional... But getting your pet pierced?! That's just sick! I feel bad for the poor animals.

I look at it like this. A pet has no real way to consent, so it's rape. Tagging is like a prostate exam, uncomfortable, but necessary. You would not put facial piercings and tattoos on an infant? Don't do it to the pets. Be kind, and don't flaunt your love of animal abuse. PETA will get you. You will also lower your social standing in many circles, obviously the worst thing you can imagine(sarcasm).
Love your pets, don't stab them holes!

What bout cows? Cows get their ears pierced :3. And it helps because if a cow goes missing or is caught someplace the farmer will know. Lol.

i don't think tagging is the same as a "sparkle sparkle". I saw a woman once with a chihuahua dog who had ear studs in the middle of the ears (near the tips) she said she thought it looked pretty/the dog likes it

I used to put those cheap plastic clip on earings on my dogs but she just shook her head and they flew off XD. I mean its alittle sick to do that O.o. That and dieing your dogs oddly O.o.
Like the one poodle I've seen was blue, yellow, purple, red, green, orange and pink all over and shaved oddly. She said the dogs like it but she sounds retarded cause dogs are color blind xD.

Yea dogs can actually see most of the color spectrum except for Reds/greens. Those are the colors that come greyed out to them. Unfortunately I was a very young kid back then and had no idea. Apologies for these old comments.

Okay, drawing animals with piercings is one thing - it burns and it looks stupid, but that's okay, many things online burn and look stupid. But actually taking your *pet*, an animal you're responsible for and poking holes through it because you think piercings look 'cute' is....well, it's reprehensible!

All these fursona and thingies with the outrageous peircings, colours, ipods (wtf?!) ....I just dont really understand them. Then you talk to the artists and, well, it may just be whom I've encountered but they seem a little...empty in the head.

Some pets are actually reccomended them by vets, but only pets prone to losing their collars.
Other then that, I agree. Having it's ear pierced to look 'cool' is disgraceful, there's a white dog on my estate that's whole body is coated in tatoo's because its a gangsters dog.
