Kawai Maria from Akuma to Love Song.I started reading this manga a few days back and really liked it. Maria is a strong, smart, not to mention gorgeous, protagonist. She's perceptive but not sensitive, frank but uncaring and charged with 'corrupting other people'. In short, she seems like a devil but actually she's trying to transform herself: make friends, grow to like herself and find happiness. She's neither needy nor weepy and has a badass attitude. The way she handles bullying at her new school isn't the way you'd expect. A very interesting and likeable character.

HA!!!! I LOVE THIS GIRL!!!! she looks like a wonderful person for a friend and I really bet her voice is as breathtaking as it is drawn, but gosh I love how her hair never looks bad. Plus its a beautiful color! And what a good way t hand bullying than singing! I love U Maria Kawai! Ur my role model!!

She reminds me of a other character from a cartoon.the girl was gothic beautiful, I know Maria isn't gothic.

She's more of the Loli kind, in the way she dresses and in her tastes... cutesy, sweet, frilly. But the mangaka usually puts her in gothic costumes on the chapter cover pages.
