He acts as a scavenger and, when desperate, a thief. He doesn't really have a different particular role.
>>Abilities/Talents:
He's quick and cunning, but hardly slick-of-the-tongue. He doesn't have much in the way of muscle, considering he's normally either hungry or sick, but he knows how to get his adrenaline pumping for speedy escapes. He often loses the fights he gets in, but can mix different flowers, herbs, and salts that were likely initially brought back by the daring adventurer or pirate from the mysterious world beneath. His access to more implies he has at least somewhat of a green thumb, which also implies he secretly has a garden somewhere away from his little hut on the side of the road.

>>Personality:
Aurel is always on edge, so he's pathetically easy to startle. However, after the initial jolt, he maintains a calm, and surprisingly friendly demeanor, albeit he may not talk much, if at all. He generally likes to keep to himself, and appears nervous or anxious in large crowds. Of course, to him, a large crowd is a group of five or more people.

He finds pleasure in the simplest things in life, and acts of generosity toward him will never go overlooked. Without the person knowing, Aurel will follow them until they leave the lower circle to make sure they do not get hurt. Other times, for those who live in the circle with him, he acts somewhat as a lost puppy. He tries a little less to hide himself, because he secretly has hope every time somebody in the Lower Ring has enough that they could offer what they own to another. And, even when they obviously see him, Aurel might look a little guilty, but odds are he won't stop until he is hopeless once more.

Other times, in acts of pure defense, he will act like a hardass and go for your throat.

>>History:
To put it bluntly, Aurel was abandoned during a pirate raid when he was around eight. His parents are not dead, just nowhere to be found. The pirates plundered Aurel's cozy yet misleadingly poor home and beat the poor boy until he stopped screaming for his parents. During this process, the pirates broke Aurel's still growing wings, and they have not made any progress in developing since. The home ended up burning to the ground. His parents escaped to somewhere, but that didn't help the trauma. Particularly since they never went back for him.

As natural to a Falk, Aurel spent hours sulking and sobbing in the charred remains of his old house. When he finally pulled himself together, he began salvaging for scraps of wood and metal he could use to build a small, unstable shelter across the street. He uses the area to remind himself that he needs to become stronger to defend himself. Instead, he became cowardice, and was quick to an opening of escape.

Recently during the cold season, a human girl gave him the coat he wears after mistaking his hut to be empty. Aurel only wears it on special occasions, trying to keep it clean and undamaged for as long as he possibly can.

>>Other:
His "prayer beads" counts his "blessings", which really just translates into "how many meals I was able to eat this week." He collects the weekly beads -- mostly made out of clay or wood -- in tiny glass bottles of varying shapes and sizes in his hut thing.

The feathers on his shoulders seem almost trimmed and neat, but his wings appear to be maimed. They have not seemed to grow out of the Juvenile Stage.

His trench-coat was initially going to be a tailcoat, and the rest of the design was going to be chains and trinkets on his shirt as I continue to develop him, so he might not look Steampunk enough for this world. YET.
He also does not currently have any mechanical parts. :<
