Description Another test of my new acrylic inks. She's got the same problem as the wolf, I'm still trying to work on dynamic poses that arn't so static but don't end up floating. Oh well. Maybe next time.

this is so pretty!
and how about putting one leg on the ground, so she's not floating? Like one of the hind-legs perhaps

I like the deer/goat like features here instead of the horse with a horn. To better anchor her in the picture, maybe set just one hoof on the ground as if she's pushing off into a gallop, with more of a body shadow on the ground?

well...the original descriptions of Unicorns were not simply "horse with one horn"
They had cloven hooves, like a sheep or goat, the tail of a lion, a single horn, and a horse-like body.

when it comes to horses, i'd suggest checking animations or figures of a horse galloping (or at any other gate). knowing how a horse acutally moves while walking/trotting/cantering/galloping/etc will help alot to make any motion more convincing. For example, there's only one phase of motion when a galloping or cantering horse has all their feet off the ground...when this happens their feet are all underneith them, similar to what you have illustrated here (like this: [link] ). But to me it seems that the pose might be better if you planted the horse's hind feet firmly on the ground and had him rearing up a little to see the butterfly.

wikipedia is good for everything, so here's a link about horse gaits: [link]

I honestly can't think of a quick-fix for more dramatic poses/pictures. As for this one, to make it look like it's not floating you could place the back, left foot on the ground. Also, lifting its head more and turning the whole figure more towards the view might make the image a bit more dramatic.
I do love your use of watercolors, though.

i dont know what wrong with this one?
its a great drawing and some good colors, you have some nifty skill there.
just one thing, that butterfly is kind of an "extra", it steals centerpiece to the unicorn, otherwise, awesome job.

I love the fact that the unicorn looks more like a deer than a horse. I don't see that very often, it's a nice change.

I see you create your unicorns according to the legend's descriptions, and not as a horse with a horn. Refreshing.

Wow, beautiful coloring. The colors give me sort of a dreamy effect. The pose doesn't look bad, but if you were trying to create more motion, then yes, it's a bit static XD.
