read the story written by ~JennieO-of-Hyrule64 [link]>_< I will never forgive Open Canvas for what it did to this picture.... it was so pretty, but when I saved it as a .JPeg, it reduced the quality of the image so much! this will probably be the last complete picture I do on Open canvas for awhile...
well, not only because of reducing the image quality, but because.... I GO HOME SUNDAY!!
FINALLY!! I am going threw some serious Brawl withdrawals right now. lots of mistakes I hope to fix it in Adobe Photoshop Elements later. X_x the background alone took me near 3 hour to do!ok, so the story behind this? ~JennieO-of-Hyrule64 did a picture of Kaisui in samurai armor: [link] , so then it made me want to draw Kaisui like that, so I sketched something out: [link] and while talking, I made some line art, and then a short story idea for the image, and when I told her, she turned it into a full story
yay! friends rock!
now, you may recognize lady(named Magii in this) and Kaisui, but the little girl is Naomi. in this story she looks to Kaisui as her knight in shining armor, and adores him greatly...she has her mind set on making Kaisui her man! 
Magii is a cook for a palace, and Naomi is a maid/serving girl for the same section. Magii is Naomi's legal guardian since she lost her parents, and all Naomi has left is a stuffed bunny doll. she losses it, and not caring for the consequences went to retrieve her beloved doll, only to run into trouble. thankfully Kaisui was there to save the day

i'm at 482. that includes Darkari. the event for darkari is where i got most of ones i am missing. now i need shellder and nidoran(F) from the first 150 to complete that set. godamn stantler, and mamoswine. those are the ones i remember. if you go for a gba game, pick up fire red. leaf green was lame in its pokemon exclusives

Which brings us to the quality. Uh, what? This is super high quality.. there's no visible jpg-blur, it looks like it might as well be a vector.
anyway, I always save a clean version of things now anyway, in my case a psd, but formerly a bmp. Either way, save that first, then save the jpg version, so if you're not satisfied you can try again with a different format :>

I'm just thankful I work with huge images, or you would be able to see blurry ness. you actually can though, if you zoom 200% in on this. OC1 can only export images as OC file format, or JPeg, so I was a little stuck on that...

And it stinks that OC 1.1 can only save .BMPs and .JPEGs.

well I normally don't have a problem with adobe Photoshop. it lets me choose the quality of the image before I save it as a Jpeg....
won't have to deal with it much longer

Stupid question: does open canvas use layers?

the one I;m using, Open Canvas version 1.1 is free to download, but it has a 20 later limit max X_x plus it dose not have much memory for undo.
it's a nice program, but it has some serious flaws.
they might have fixed those things in later versions of Open Canvas, but I don't know.

that's the max amount of layers they let you add to the image, 20. layers are good because they let you draw and color on a part of the picture, and if you don't like what you did or made a mistake, you can erase all the work done on just that layer, leaving other layers alone.
plus you can put like for example, the line art layer above all the others, and the line art will show through all the other ones,
