A commission for a personal friend of mine XDthough I feel bad he paid for it....
Terry from Dragon Quest VI
Pretty much over 2 years ago I bought him Dragon Quest VI for the DS since I figured he would like it and it would get him out of his mindset of Final Fantasy games are the only true JRPGs and all the others are crap.
I have been trying so long to get him to play something in the franchise.
He kinda tossed the game aside, until I started spending so much time playing Dragon Quest heroes(1 and 2) on steam :U he would pretty much just watch me while he did other stuff. He got interested in one of the characters in both titles, and luck be that the character was also from DQVI.
That would be Terry if you didn't put it together yourself~
He picked the DS title I sent him up FINALLY. He got mega interested in it. So while I played the heroes game, he made his way through VI
I am happy to say that he loved it. I mean, LOVED it. It's all he wants to talk about now XD he wants me to pick him out another game.
Terry is pretty much his favorite character. I mean, he's cool and all, but my fav will always be Chamoro(or Nevan now? I didn't play the remake really maybe I should one day open it up.)

Have you tried getting him into Xenoblade?Β
and also like the below i thought he was a Zelda character but something didn't seem right XD also i think its because its Links Iconic Pose BUT i don't think another pose would suit this character tbh XDΒ

Yeah I did but he's kinda stubborn about anything that isn't FFVII is shit :/
He did NOT like the combat in Xenoblade and X at all.
I am absolutely amazed that he actually played DQVI to be honest...I guess a TsunTsun sword boy is all it took.

man I'd love it if some dragon quest games would get on nintendo where they belong.. I'd love to get into it properly and make a happy maggie.
so I see the sword doesn't really match the scabbard, and I've looked him up and normally he has a big kinda Trunks-ish broadsword, which does fit the scabbard.. is there a thing in-game where you get new weapons but the sheath doesnt change?
also i love how he stores his shield over one shoulder. i have no idea if that would work but Toriyama made it look awesome.

There are sooooo many good games I am really interested in but won't be able to get my hands on sadly >_>
Though they have most of the main series on more recent systems now. the DS titles are GREAT remakes of the originals, and then you just had VII and VIII on the 3DS launch, they are both fantastic. (7 being the more impressive remake since it is huuuuuuge)
The sword I drew him with is the Sunderbolt blade which when you get him is actually the weapon he has equipped. So I just combined the sword with the scabbard from his arts. I mean, I could have drawn the other sword, and it would have looked more together...but...eeeeeh.
XD in dragon quest heroes he keeps the shield on his back rather than the shoulder, so maybe it doesn't work, or it looked awkward on his character model, but yeah, it looks REALLY cool in art when it's there.
Toriyama seemed to do that a lot with character art for VI XD 'This looks cool....but I don't think very functionable....screw it...so cool no one will care'

Yeah. Smash Bros. has got me interested in Xenoblade Chronicles just loosely. The way I see it, I'll just wait for a sale and let fate determine if I play it.
