Legend of Korra - Korrasami - Don't Go
Don’t go.
It was magical, for both of them.
Korra and Asami were on vacation in the spirit world. After the threat of Kuvira, they were entitled for a well-earned rest. Korra knew her friend needed that the most. After the loss of her father, she wanted to make her feel good in any way possible.
Today, on this beautiful morning, they were taking a stroll on rolling hills crowned with trees of multicolored leaves—some were red, others were yellow, some blue, from all of the colors of the rainbow. Asami was beyond impressed and amazed by it. It was a treasure to see her as such for the Avatar.
The spiritual creatures of all sort welcomed them with warming fondness. Korra introduced them to Asami. This one looked like a child tasting candy for the first time. She was happy. Happiness embedded onto her friend’s face. And that happiness infected her.
Later that day, she took her to a swim as they both explored the oceanic depths that the spirit world had to offer. S

OKay, okay, I saw the finale after not watching any lick of the show since the ending of season 1, so when I saw it, I was thinking to myself, 'They sure are being friendly with each other." and, after doing my own research to confirm this, today I find out they're actually canon?! I was SO not expecting that! What a wonderful surprise!
I'm so happy the creators of the show did this! Amazing work on their part! What they did was a MASSIVE step forwards for gay couples in society and in general media ;D I'm so proud of them! It's about time they stop acting as if they don't exist! Homosexuals/Bisexuals are as real as anything else. Good for them!
Again, I must say, what a wonderful surprise. This was really uplifting to discover!

A bit late but reading how it kinda came natural for you restored my faith in humanity
So many claimed they were showing no romantic affection towards each other and while it wasn't that in-your-face it was there. Especially how people can brush Korra's blush off as platonic get's beyond me. I'm female too and I never blush when giving compliments unless I'm in love with said person. If Korra would be shy in general and would blush all the time I'd let it slip but she isn't so yup: hetero-lenses ~

Apologies for the late reply! However, If you don't mind, I'd like to share/explain a bit more of my experience.. Buckle up, there's a bit to read.
When I first saw the finale, I was mostly in bewilderment - not because of the fact they were both girls, but because of what I was seeing was happening in western television. In western television, it seemed, as far as homosexuality (bisexuality) went, it was "OK" for it to be used in children shows as along as it was used as some form of comedy material, never to be used "seriously" (However, I heard that was some form of an unspoken rule.. at least, from what I've read).
It was because of this fact I was skeptic at first - I simply didn't believe they would allow that to be aired/represented. At least, not for another decade, maybe. That was why when I found out that this was, indeed, true, I was so blown away! I simply wasn't expecting it! I was flabbergasted! It gives you a feeling of "What a time to be alive!" I was just so proud of the characters, the show, the crew, and the cast of what they achieved! The happiness and healing they spread and caused was and is truly remarkable. God knows I was happy!
And about the people saying 'there was no build-up' (which I've seen, too) or whatever, I suppose I'll state a blunt response to that..
At that time when I watched the finale, I watched none more of the show other than season 1 (except maybe two or three episodes I caught randomly on TV), so I knew very little about the show altogether then. As part of this fact, I haven't yet witnessed any of the romantic build-up that took place between Korra and Asami in the show. And even then, I still saw there was something more there! I didn't even need to see any of the other three seasons to know there was something there! The romance was so immensely present!
So, to be quite frank, the only way people wouldn't have been able to see the love/romance between those two is if they were in denial, or wearing really, really, thick hetro-glasses.
On another note, after the outstanding experience the show The Legend of Korra had delivered, I felt so humbled, honored and proud to have had the privilege of witnessing this new, exciting, and amazing revolution this show has started!
So, when I say this, I speak with an immense pride (and honor) when I say I have a strong love and respect for these characters and the show.
As for being a grand finale, and goodbye, the only thing their last scene lacked was a kiss to seal an end to an amazing story and a revolutionary show!

the problem is not that they are bisexual
the problem is that this was a surprise the show didn't really prepare the fans for it it made me feel weird

I'm straight as an arrow and my only problem with the ending is that Korra and Asami never got a proper kiss and/or confession like other couples of the show had. (Yes they make Korrasami cannon, but not in the way couples are usually made cannon. They sugarcoated it a bit...)
So #heterolens is probably not the issue here.

I dunno about that I like to think that although the Avatar series appears as kids shows on the surface I believe over all both ATLAB and LoK has something in it for everyone cause they seem to take their viewers seriously and rarely have I ever seen the creators sugarcoat anything

I hate that reason, because there's no way to counter it, it explains everything, like "a wizard did it", while not actually explaining anything. XD
So let me try this from a DISCUSSION standpoint (and I'm marking it as such so I don't get burnt alive - internet you scary)
Saying a character is bi is like saying "doesn't matter, had sex", it sort of goes against the most common gay anthems of "love doesn't know gender" or "you're born gay". If you're switching around all the time it either means you're insecure and will become attached to anyone who gives you attention, or you're in it for sex and don't care how you get it.
So applied to Korra, it looks to me the only reason these two are together, is because Mako was a jerk to both of them...

I guess its how you see it. I think people can be born bi. Being bi doesnt mean that they have to flip flop constantly in order to find happiness. All it means is that they could end up in a loving relationship with either gender.

Hey I have a question, what did mako do not to deserve any of them? I stopped watching this a long time ago, couldn't stand it for some reason but I was a huge fan of The Last Airbender, so much that I watched that show more than 5 times over but I couldn't stand korra, maybe I'll give it another shot but now I'm curious, what did mako do?

I don't know, from watching season 2 all I can say is that he was not supportive of his partner in a stressful time like a war and flipped-flopped on dating both Korra and Asami, thus cheating on them again like in the first season. Also, why would any person "deserve" someone like a prize.

Yeah, it was confirmed by the producers. I didn't like it at all though because it contradicted the first 2 seasons completely.
To some fans they might like it if they like seasons 3 and 4 more, but to me, who acknowledges and remembers all 4 seasons, I don't agree that this would have been the natural outcome. To me this was all forced by the producers.
I can only think that the producers wanted to leave behind a "fictional fan bomb" just to be remembered in the future as "the guys who did it". To me this was a selfish reason and they ended up destroyed two great characters.
