Description I know this is like the 4,293 th shot you see of a ladybug walking on a straw. But are you sure you'v seen a Warrior Ladybug?!

I saw this litte fella walking around in the field, all scratched up on the back and head, like it's been into a fight with predators and enemies.

I got the thought that he/she was on the way home from the tough life on the field for today, home to saftey so that he/she tomorrow again can claim her/his position in the food chain . The vicious cycle of the animal kingdom, eat or be eaten!

Nothing special with this here, a little tilted shot with soft light from a cloudy sky.

how on earth did you get so close with the 17-70! i just bought one, and it doesnt seem to be able to get THAT close.

did you have extension tubes?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyrapid In reply to erykv1 [2007-07-13 08:34:48 +0000 UTC]

I can get even closer hehe.
The "trick" to get close is to just zoom... use full zoom and turn the hardest focal point you can get . Beware of the light tho when you're like 2 mm from the object, it's a MUST to shoot in backlight or sidelight, otherwise you're fucked.

I'm thinking of gettin some extension tubes but I dunno, I might wanna go get a better objective for macro photography, perhaps a macro lens even .

I have a few shots I took last night that's REALLY close, in fact it's on a ladybug as well.

ladyrapid In reply to Lee-Xai [2007-06-24 10:24:12 +0000 UTC]

Yea. The sun that day was very covered by the clouds so it was a bit hazy in the strenght, I had to really snap it from a good angle to get something in the line of "light" on it. It's also backed up with a flash of course. It's nice when people see things that you really tried to get and make it right, that's the rewarding thing about photography when it goes the right way, thank you!

I still have a fre clichΓ© shots to take in the fall, I'll give it a personal twist tho .
My celestial art is back in business. I'm actually doing a piece now that's buildt on the same theme a bit as "The Core". This time I'm doing some architectual combination with cloudscapes , you'll see. It's a wacom piece so be aware!
