So finally made a full sketch w/ character and bg. It has been years! I tried to sketch characters that people offered in the journal I posted but then I ended up drawing this little wingly. Definitely feel out of practice.
But it feels so good to get something done from sketch to color. I've been wanting to draw Meru from the Legend of Dragoon for a long time. I love her design. This is the first real video game I fell in love with.

AGREED!! I loved so many of the designs from Legend of Dragoon, especially Meru's. The music was absolutely brilliant as well! One of my top faves still so far.

Yeah it's funny. I've owned that game for... maybe 15 years or so now? NEVER beaten it. Every single time something happens. Once my Disc 3 had a scratch and I couldn't get past a certain part. Once my memory card got stolen and I lost the save game. Once I moved and lost the game. Bought another copy, and then the last time I played through I had bought the game used and the 4th disc was missing. T_T
I actually just got another copy recently and I am determined to beat this game if it is the last thing I do. lol

Yay Meru from the Legend of Dragoon! She's so cute you captured her so well. I really love her outfit you got it right on. Oh this game came a great time for me, I'm still so fond of it.

This actually turned out veeeery nice!!!! You did a great job on the details on her outfit (THEY ARE ALWAYS SUCH A KILLER) And I love the background, especially the colors used. I also like how it pays homage to her hometown. x333 Great job!

Aww thank you so much!! I am so glad I finally sucked it up and drew her and yes, all those killer details in the outfit. XD That's the biggest reason I've always avoided drawing her but really wanted to at the same time because I am in LOVE with her design.

I've been considering doing more of the characters/girls but I haven't made any official plans yet.

Thanks! I wish they could remake it so bad - improve the graphics, add some voice acting, and have a writer rewrite the dialogue (since it can be on the cheesy side). Make it even better.

D: ps3 is backwards compatible for ps one games!!!! That's what I replayed my copy on! They just won't play ps2 games. Aside from some of the very first original ps3 models. :3 You should totally replay it!

Prismacolors...but I use the watercolor version and use them like regular colored pencils. Plus I use a colorless blender. =3

I haven't tried any other type of prismacolor products beside the regular pencils and the art stixs, but I'm sure they're very good quallity

I bought a few regular pencils and the smoothness is almost weird for me because I got used to the watercolor ones. XD

haha I'm the opposite! Any other colored pencils I have such a hard time with because I got so used to how easily the regular prismacolor blend together.. I try to do it with others.. but it doesn't work

I definitely agree on that one! If I started with the regular colored pencils I know I wouldn't want to use anything else. That smoothness would just be too addicting.
