Description
First and Second Doctor companion Polly, in a 1969 Mattel Barbie fashion called Red, White and Warm. The Barbie fashions of the time were fantastically mod, and after my reproduction Twist and Turn Barbie reminded me so strongly of Polly, I knew I had to do something like this. I'm considering doing a series, because Polly is just too lovely, and Mod-Barbie too groovy, for me to pass this up.Others:

Yay for some Polly art! I was just saying in Space Museum how one of our contests might be for underrated companions like Polly, Ben, Steven, Vicki, Liz Shaw, etc. If it could get entries like this that'd be a success, I'd say. Love how ya used the TARDIS roundels in a 60s fab design kinda way.

Aww, I could totally go for seeing more of Ben and Polly especially! I think they're wonderful. I'd be on board for it if you ever do it! Barbie only has a million outfits Polly could wear, after all, and I think there may be hope for Ken and Ben...
The TARDIS lends itself very well to 60's background-ing, that's exactly what I was hoping it would evoke. Awesome.

I THINK this first contest we're doing is gonna be a big success (I'm about to go plug it over on the BF forum and a couple other places), so we'll probably be doing more. I don't know if I'll get to the companions idea right off the bat, but it's definitely one I wanna do. There are so many contest possibilities I'm psyched about: the novels; the DWM comics; the Doctor's pre-renegade years; the Time War; there's tons of exciting possibilities.
And... Malibu Ben? Now that's a funny image, Ben walking around Barbie's Dream Home with a sweater tied around his shoulders preppie-style and being all, "Oi, Duchess!"
