Description
This is one of the walk cycles in my final project for first year animation.A bit about the character
The character is called Lulu and shes a contemporary/interpretive dancer. Unfortunatly shes not very good....but she doesn't realise it. Despite how terrible she is at dancing she believes shes an artistic genius and so carries herself with alot of confidence. Shes a wee bit crazy too^_~
I decided to post this one becuse it was the most cleaned up. I quickly coloured in photoshop(attempted flash. The results were not pretty;_; )

Looks good to me. Walk cycles can be quite challenging. I have posted lots of them in my gallery, where the newer are better than the older.

Did you use a book for reference and is this the first time you have done a walk cycle?
I had such a hard time with my frist walk cycle x__x Had to keep re-doing it(like..3-4 times) till it was decent enough...

This was my second walk cycle (we did a simple one without any character earlier in the year). I didnt use reference for it, I just kept getting up too act it out and then drew what I rememberd doing
A very stupid way too do it.
I had too film myself doing the walk after so I didn't get in trouble with my tutor for not using reference XD

Acting it out is also a great way to understand how to animate it. I'd have to film myself though and pause every second cause when I tried walking my little sister walking too much was happening at once for me to follow XD hehe

This character is so cute, I loved her in the glammies and I still think she's awesome!

I like how fluid you made her movements and motions. The arms and head swinging back and forth were good, but then you went and animated her weight shifting and her knees bending as she takes every step, which I think was a good move in making the walking look fluid and smooth and anything but stiff. Very nice! : )

Mazin'! The colours are exactly how I thought she would look!
What I really love about this is how heavy her bottom half looks, and at the same time her arms and top half look really light. S'verreh cleverrrrr.
I like the ponytail, ponytails are win. Her head movement is nice too. I think the thin part of her body jibbles about a little bit, but other wise it looks free from shrinkage.
As always I am jealous at your expressions. She looks so freakin' smug!
You have to post up her wobbly en point (or whatever it's called XP) walk 'cuz I loved that too, possibly even slightly more

awwww....you coloured it aswell!? You are too awesome. I dont think mine was ready for clean up when I did the character animation. How long did it take to colour in photoshop, and did you scan the drawings in again? How did you do it?
