A birthday gift for the absolutely incredible of Rei from Yukikaze, which is also now one of my favorite series that they introduced me to-!
chernotrav is such a super-sweet person too, and also an insanely amazing artist and my watercolor role model, so seriously, if you haven't yet, you should go check out their work!
This piece is kind of embarrassingly rushed in comparison and full of lots of mistakes, and the composition is pretty boring, b-but, I hope you guys still like it, it was fun for me to do-! (Been a while since I painted clouds, and with watercolor, too, a first-!) I'm glad I could contribute some Yukikaze fanart, because we desperately need more~

I LOVE this series!! It's also super-short, only 5 episodes, so totally worth the watch, it's an OVA and done for Bandai's anniversary, so the animation is SUPER-nice too!
It's a scifi story mostly to do with fighter planes and their pilots, it can get a little difficult to understand if you don't also read the novel or appreciate airforce things much (I didn't for either of those initially, but now I do and I have so much more appreciation for everything that went into the series (they researched with the collaboration of the Japan air force to get the action sequences as realistic as possible!)), but more importantly, I think, the MC resembles Ian a lot, so... I couldn't help but really fall in love... xDDD
It's a terrific series though, you should definitely check it out if you have the time, it's one of my favorites now for sure *-* <3<3<3

I've got a lot of experience painting clouds though, so they weren't too hard, and I found a nice technique for doing them, so~ <:'D
But ohmygosh thank you so much!!! I sadly do far fewer watercolor paintings than I'd like, but I'll try to keep at 'em! I kind of tend to do them as bday gifts so that keeps me at it, hahah! Sadly this means I own almost none of the watercolor paintings I've ever done... xD But I don't mind!

I, they've kind of become a way for me to motivate myself to do full-out illustrations, since oftentimes all I ever do is doodles and sketches, hahahah! And they're also fairly low-stress since, well, it's a birthday gift, so no one's gonna be upset about getting one no matter what quality it's of~ XD

I dunno, it's still a pretty emotionally packed illustration with the fish-eye effect. :> And sea-green skies are the best.
Haven't watched Yukikaze yet but the way the men are drawn in it ~does~ make me think of your art. XD;
