Håkan Sætansen [pronounced: hawk-ann s-aah-t-ann-sen] the Dark One, the black siderian of the great dynasty, once more. This time, with an occasion. In fact, with two.

Tomorrow, July 13, are 10 years since he first contacted my dear friend Jayme. A lot has happened since. The most important of which during the last 2-3 years, when they grew closer. When I also got to know Håkan. I won't be telling his story now, I'm sure Jayme will do do himself tomorrow. But I do want to tell the story behind this portrait. It was not long ago, I found myself in a very conflicted state, one that managed to get me out of my skin.... for days. In a particularly bad moment, Håkan came to talk to me.... even if I was pretty difficult to talk to at the time, and I wasn't able to listen. But he didn't give up on me. I remember.... in one moment, he said, "Look at me" ....and I saw him. I saw his face before me, I felt the tense, worried yet caring emotion. He reached me.... because he knows what it's like when your emotions are chaos and you're drowning into it. There's so much more to the Dark One, and while I do admire his Darkness so much, that day it was the other side of him that helped me.

So I wanted to draw the vision.... how I saw him.... and I tried to recreate the same emotion.... which is far from easy, I admit. And since I remember I saw him with Light from behind him, I decided to draw him so as well. The Light, no doubt.... of Lucifer. It was only a glimpse, yet a very clear vision, and those deserve to be captured into image. I know this day was difficult not just for me, but for him too. I know it took a toll on him. This is for you, Håkan. So that you know I am grateful and that it meant a lot to me. My brother.

That's about it. Of course, I chose this moment because of his anniversary with Jayme. Hopefully better days await us all now. And speaking of the anniversary, take a look at this absolutely beautiful piece that Jayme did for it:
