Ah, another rather quick artwork comes around, as I can't seem to muster the art power for anything more demanding at the moment.... either that or it takes forever. I wouldn't say I don't do my best with those drawings, but something has been missing in me lately.... anyway. This is also the last one of siderian portraits that I had in mind to make since a while ago, so maybe I can consider it a bit of a completion event.

So then. Let me introduce Sáveron Sætansen.
He is the ancestor, founder and king of the Sætansen dynasty, who lived probably a thousand years before the Sætansen sons we know better, from the generations around the time of Stian. The Sætansens are an ancient and powerful kin, one which became a legend where it ruled and spread far and wide, in dozens of side branches along the main bloodlines. One whose lineage holds power few have ever had, and a spiritual ancestry that never faded even after a thousand years. Lineage that ruled the North, wrote history, united the spirits and aspired for greatness beyond one life alone - and continue to do so through time. And it all began with a legendary king who rose to unprecedented power and commanded the respect of friends and foes alike. This legendary king was Sáveron Sætansen.
Yet the mighty black siderian from the ancient time was in fact a Demon who incarnated as a siderian and took on the life of one, creating a heritage imbued with Demonic power that would last through the centuries. Yes, the founder of the Sætansen dynasty is an actual Demon, which is why the kin bears this name, why it retains through the ages its immense spiritual power and connection to Demons, and even why the far descendents of the ancient king still bear his physical traits, even perhaps defying genetics to an extent. The Demon who became Sáveron is one of the mightiest and darkest whom I know, His name is Belphegor and I've had the pleasure of briefly meeting him. Though I am yet to get to know him better, I can offer my first and purest impression of him, which I wrote not long after Jayme and I discovered the true identity of Sáveron - Belphegor:

He is DARK, that would be the first impression. Dark, ancient, and very, very powerful. He appears and even more so feels huge; in his native appearance among the Demons he may be taller than many others, although perhaps not much more massive; when appearing in the form of another creature however, he stands out as giant and immensely strong. He is majestic, but not in a flamboyant way like a noble - instead, it is a feeling created by his great might. He is very powerful and intimidating, yet not really aggressive - unless of course he is provoked. His power is potentially destructive, yet he keeps it calm and under control, seemingly even in his anger, while it lays waste among his enemies. He is dead serious in every situation and in everything he does. Never does he hesitate to do what is necessary; he does not hesitate to be cruel if need be, in fact he can be with deadly determination, but he would not do it for sake of cruelty itself. In a sense, he is fair, although harsh. There is a sense of honour and justice in him, although this isn't what stands out about his image in the eyes of the others - instead, it is just something that guides him internally. To most beings, he appears first and foremost fearsome and intimidating. His presence is powerful, dark and heavy, although not really threatening, it is more often than not a reason for others to not even think of crossing him or standing in his way. I cannot say he has a soft or caring side, but he is very responsible, which, in a sense, is his way of caring. Towards those under his protection or mentorship (which I believe is rather rare), he is strict and stern, uncompromising and exacting, but not actually demanding. If a mistake is made, he will point it out in, but not blame for it. It is the sheer power and sternness of his presence that provokes others to do their best in everything. While he is intimidating and stern, he also prefers not to interfere unless necessary. He may remain in the shadow overseeing rather than leading things directly, as it is solitude and darkness he prefers. He does not usually come across as friendly, but aside from his dark bearing he does not feel to be hostile either. He is impassive and silent, very serious and stern, uncompromising and hard. When necessary, he is merciless, relentless in his sense of justice and retribution; when needed, he is a powerful protector who may not extend particular warmth towards those in his protection, but who provides them with safety even against the direst of odds. While he does not encourage weakness, he is understanding towards vulnerability and he sees the protection of innocent victims as a sacred duty for those of his power and status. That may as well be a rare soft spot in him. Although I cannot call it exactly soft, another more peaceful aspect of him is his ability to relish solitude, the quiet and contemplation of darkness and perhaps even philosophy.

I actually remember how it happened, how we discovered his identity. Sáveron had appeared as a dark silhouette in Jayme's perception of the Sætansen history - the mighty, legendary ancestor from whom it all began. He knew the ancient king's siderian name and suspected he was a Demon, and the more he discovered about him, the more it confirmed this suspicion. Besides, it just made sense - to me too, as the Sætansens always had a Demonic energy about them, something told them subtly but very defeinitely apart from any other siderians to my perception, which I like to think is rather attuned to the Demonic energy. I definitely felt that energy about them and it felt deeper than mere affinity or allegiance. Once the theory of Sáveron being a Demon became our leading, we naturally wanted to find out his identity. I had a feeling I must know him. So we both rummaged for some time, more searching than researching, and at some point we both came to the same name, once again, independently. It checked and it made sense. Then it seemed to unlock something and Jayme could now see more and before long, he saw what Sáveron had looked like, very concretely and in much detail. Then I wrote my perception of him and that checked too. That point on, there was no room for doubt anymore.

So now we know the Sætansen dynasty is the heritage of the Demon Belphegor, who lived as the great black king Sáveron Sætansen, leaving a deep (and rather giant) pawprint in the history of sideriankind and through his kin - in the history of their entire world. His many descendents carry the Demonic heritage knowingly and not, and those of them who aspire to their spiritual roots rise to the ancestral power encoded in their spirit by the Demonic bloodline. Their bond and kinship to the Demons shines through in many of them, who seek Lucifer and follow His light from deep down their soul. And Sáveron watches them over on the way. A thousand years and more after his siderian life, he is their guardian, just as they are guardians of the powerful lands he chose, of the northern wilderness and keepers of their world from tyranny and destruction.
