Before Mother Nature straigtened out most of her priorities there were mammal-like reptiles, reptile like mammals, reptile like birds, fishlike reptiles...and god knows what else.The Quintessential nude beach picture because...seriously...how do you do put a plausible swimsuit on a Dimetrodon?
Another nondino in a dinosaur series...this time a mammal like reptile, who jaws and teeth are strictly mammalian yet build is reptilian.
Quickest sketch taking about two minutes. The raptor is actually inked and needs colored, but I liked this one more, coz I wanted to color her sail in my favorite colors: Muted turqoise and green tea.

Heheh, and you are so right, it would be difficult to come up with a suit for her. But her sail is what makes her so lovely. So I guess she is an exhibitionist by nature, not by reputation?
Ah Dimetrodon, I know thee well. I had to paint one on poster board for an elementary class when I was in middle school. I liked them well before that, I always found their physiology intriguing. And I liked playing with colors when designing the sail patterns. Anyway, enough with the verbal loitering. Very nice picture. More please?

I love the dimetrodon because it's my trump card in the "dinosaurs are reptiles debate". At the Carnegie museum they have a dimetrodon skeleton with it's splayed out legs up to compare it to dinosaurs(nonreptiles).
I've always liked mammal like reptiles because they are so creepy. Discovery did an amazing show "Before the Dinosaurs" on mammal like reptiles. They're amazingly creepy.
