Description I was contacted again by the nice people of youth culture expert organisation Ladda, to make a quick series of illustrations to accompany their research study about why young families choose or choose not to live in a city. It might not all make much sense without the text material, but you can look at the drawingz.

don't worry, they make sense even without explanation but I honestly have no idea what's going on with the guy tighten up by god heading for the wall? and of course they are all hilariously fun, the two headed dog is my absolute favourite I must laugh every time I look at him. GREAT WORK!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

laresistance In reply to m0nimrod [2011-04-15 21:06:14 +0000 UTC]

thxxxx man ! aha, the guy tightened up was something about " being forced to leave the city ", but maybe it's not entirely clear. cool you saw a god hand, didn't even think about that.

love the fact you like the two headed dog so much , it's a personal favourite too.
do you know this little video about a smiling dog. I keep watching it in repeat and can't stop laughing. [link]

aha, forced to leave the city?! in that case the wall in front of him irritates me a bit, maybe a mob with pitchforks and torches ?

the smiling dog is fun, haha

thanks !
you mean if I like the wine ? yes I do, I love wine
or do you mean you like the drawing of that wine bottle and weren't sure if it was a wine bottle . I bet it's that last one.
and it isn't wine indeed. that drawing was about "city marketing and how a city promotes itself as a product". so that booze there doesn't taste like wine.
it tastes like Antwerp. and that's even better

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LifeguardLover In reply to laresistance [2011-04-04 21:39:22 +0000 UTC]

Oh damn, I should have made that clearer. I was going for the second thing...but you know wine seems great and all, I just can't drink it. Ah, I see that's actually funny since we"re notorious for booze around here and we certainly market the hell out of it.

teehee, you're from california ? I dig californian wine !
and I guess wine is not for everyone. There's a lot of wine I don't like and the few times I drink it, I don't drink that much of it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LifeguardLover In reply to laresistance [2011-04-04 22:22:31 +0000 UTC]

No!! But I wish I was from California, all that warmth and heat would be amazing. Think more Midwest, lots of beer culture etc. Ha, that's not quite the issue, I'd be arrested.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

laresistance In reply to LifeguardLover [2011-04-05 00:42:06 +0000 UTC]

yeah, don't we all wish we were from california ? I dig good weather. aha, mid west, like illinois ? I was there in september ! awesome place to be. I dig beers too. alot. belgium is more like a beer country. luckily we can drink all the beer we want. officially you have to be 16, but I never heard anyone being arrested for drinking beer younger than 16. I guess we are lucky ?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LifeguardLover In reply to laresistance [2011-04-05 02:55:54 +0000 UTC]

Oh hell yeah, it would be awesome to live in the land of sand and surf. There's lots to see out there, I plan to live there for atleast a summer someday. Close, but right just above Illinois. Really, did you get a chance to check out the aquarium? Haha, your pretty fond of beer then? Our baseball team is named after beer, that says something right there.Wow, you must be joking 16...? Here it's 21, so I'd still be arrested.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

laresistance In reply to LifeguardLover [2011-04-05 17:32:10 +0000 UTC]

aha, close to Lake Michigan then still ? it's a nice region. I didn't check out the aquarium, worth a visit ? I mostly don't do aquariums when travelling, because I've done a few over the years and feel like they are more of the same. I like them, though, but you have to choose out of so many options when visiting awesome cities. and yeah, I dig beer a lot, but very occasionally. When the moment is right, on a party with friends or in a bar/pub. never at home. I'm more of a coffee addict. and yeah, I know it's 21 in the states, pretty crazy, I still have to show my ID when I go there, although I'm 26. They just never believe me. In Belgium they never ask your ID, only if you really look like you're 10 years old or something

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LifeguardLover In reply to laresistance [2011-04-06 00:16:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, just north of Chicago and cross the border. I guess...but winter is too long and way too cold for my liking. But this is home after all. Ehh I was just wondering, I've never been there so I couldn't say for sure. I suppose, it would be the same thing: staring at animals behind glass. But hey, the sting rays are pretty awesome to see gliding through the water. Also very true, lots to see like the art museum. I don't travel much though, I've been to South America...about 4 times within the last few years. Haha, it was just funny they way you said but it reminds of this time when I was having a drink...didn't know there was alcohol in it. I absolutely cannot be without coffee, although buying it on the go kills my wallet. Yes...but I think if it was lower here people would go absolutely insane. They do indeed ask everyone, I've seen people atleast over 40 or 50 get asked for ID. That does not make a whole lot of sense.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

laresistance In reply to LifeguardLover [2011-04-06 10:55:35 +0000 UTC]

hehe, I believe so ! a friend of mine lived in Montreal for 6 years and she moved away there, because the winter was so cold. apart from that she loved it there. and yeah, how expensive is take out coffee in the usa ? especially when going to starbucks or something. we have it here as well now ( only since last year ! ) and I never go there, because I can almost have lunch for the price of one coffee ! it's ridiculous. But I got some bar in town and they have this fantastic thing on the menu called: "coffee a volontΓ©" and it's basically unlimited coffee for just 5 dollar or something. and I was sitting there with a friend, drawing all day and we drunk like 2 liters until we felt all hyperactive. awesome.

well, the thing about drinking age is if you make it legal for a younger age then nobody will care that much about it anymore. A lot of people in Belgium drink, and certainly students, but I think that's the case everywhere. it's just not that special here, because you can buy it whenever or wherever you want. it's all more exciting if something is prohibited. and haha, yeah, asking people over 50 is ridiculous too, they still asked my dad in september last year to show some idea. he's 57

Oh it is, winter her gets pretty crazy with 16 inches of snow in a storm. A few months back we got hit pretty bad, I couldn't open my front door because I was blocked with snow and on top of that my car got stuck in the driveway. That was pleasant :/ I'd move, but I'd really miss the summer music festival and the weird fair food...if your ever around here you have to try the chocolate covered bacon and the deep fried Oreos. Hell the coffee is expensive. I've been to starbucks a total of 4 times, an each time I handed the barista 5 dollar bill... And got back only a quarter. I always feel idiotic paying that much when I go. Lucky, no good deals like that around here only 1 dollar coffee from mcdonalds...not so great. Haha, if I drink to much I feel pretty crazy later.

That is a good point, definitely did not think about it like that. I feel like people would run wild for a bit, and it later die down. But there's a college town a few counties away from me, and it's notorious for partying so it'd be rough there...ironic that I'm planning on going there. But don't you have issues with DUI, there?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

laresistance In reply to LifeguardLover [2011-04-07 02:39:01 +0000 UTC]

chocolate covered bacon ! deep fried oreos ! I'm missing out on something. Or not. at least it sounds interesting

and considering the DUI, yeah, there's the occasional accidents, of course, but the government does a lot of campaigns, control actions on the road and heavy heavy fines scare off most of the potential daredevils. I have no idea if it's more or less than somewhere else, but the numbers are definitely going down.
good luck on the college planning

LifeguardLover In reply to laresistance [2011-04-07 03:55:48 +0000 UTC]

The chocolate covered bacon is okay, the ores are interesting to say the least. Oh believe me it is, there's plenty more like coffee flavored milk, etc.

I suppose nothing scares people here too much, as we have repeat offenders but first time there's no jail. What a great example. :/
Thanks! I'll surely need it,since I'm already overwhelmed. Going the pre-med route. I shall take no more of your time, and seriously keep up the super awesome work!
