Hi again everyone, here's some more Heartlands stuff, another reference I did whilst doing more on my bloodskins piece. This is Ebony, she is a Reiken which is my own specie of big cat. You may not make one of these, unless I say so, right now I will allow only members of the Heartlands too make one (when it's up and running obviously), I may make some adoptables, but only if I have time. If you are a good friend of mine and wish too make one, just note me .

Reikens (big thanks to Rurouna for the name) are water cats, I made them a few years ago thinking of stingrays, although back then they were kind of 'stingray lions', now I've adapted them so they're their own kind of feline... if that sentence just made any sense lol.

Special Abilities: It's part of Ebony's species to control water, and create it from their flesh, although upon arriving in the Heartlands this has become much more strong in the cub, even though she is still learning. Ebony also has poison running through her veins, a trait gained from her father, he was the most poisonous Reiken around, this poison can be used to harm or heal, something Ebony must learn how to do. She can poison others by biting them (such as a snake), scratching them, or shooting poisoned spines from the tip of her tail. All Reikens have some poison, but Ebony's is very strong. She can also survive under water, using her gills, and eye covers. Her paws are also webbed to allow swift movement through water, along with elongated claws.

Personality: Ebony's a sweet and fun loving cub. She cares a lot about others, and always tries to find the good in everyone; she does not believe everyone is completely evil, that there is some compassion and good in everyone's hearts. She loves playing with others, and especially enjoys teaching her friends, or younger cubs to swim... Actually she loves teaching anyone anything, although she does find learning hard, as she can get very distracted by things, and would much rather be playing than having a lesson.

Size: average lion cub, but will grow to be slightly taller than a cheetah
Physical Description: Ebony's main pelt colour is a pale turquoise colour, reminiscent of a stingray, her back has lots of black speckles, which collect together at the top of her back, and peter out further down her torso. Across each of her eyes, she has two big stripes, which fall downwards, following the contours of her face. She also has a couple of black specks falling down the middle of her face. She has small fins that are beginning to grow along her back and down her legs. Ebony has a small black nose, and a large spikey hair tuft. Her feet are webbed, and her tummy is quite podgy (cub weight that will fall off as she ages.).

History: Ebony's life isn't really a happy one. She was born in the land of Qyrre, where all reikens originate from. A land split between 4 different prides; the Reiken pride, the Sparko pride, the Kwato pride and the Tofauti pride, an each royal member of each pride had a guardian, another feline that had a bond with said royalty, and would protect their charge with their entire life. Qyrre itself is a wonderful land, with different terrains (very similar to the Heartlands). Ebony was born to the reiken Usafi, a kind and gentle soul. She was a pure reiken, practically free of any poison within her, apart from that used for healing. She was a beautiful feline, who attracted the attention of many a male reiken, although Usafi cared not for any of them, her heart belonged to something that lurked upon the horizon.

Ebony's father however was a complete opposite to Usafi. Sumu was a half reiken half shadow lion. Meaning he was a powerful being, his colouring being almost totally black with speckles of red, meaning he was known as the most poisonous reiken to have ever lived. He was feard as a cub among the prides of Qyrre, especially the reikens. He tried too fit in, but eventually when he was learning to use his powers he ended up poisoning his young friend, who unfortunately died. The prides took him and barred him in prison like cave, away from any other being. This solidarity made him angry and cynical towards the felines of Qyrre, so he broke free, killing guards and heading for the horizon, to the dark feline shapes that called him so much. He found a home with the shadow lions who accepted him for what he was.

Sumu always watched Qyrre from afar, sometimes at night stepping close too it's borders, to marvel upon the wonderful land where his mother had lived. It was on one of these fateful nights he met Usafi. She was at the borders collecting herbs for healing. When Sumu saw her he instantly fell in love with her beauty, and Usafi saw the gruff dark feline and softened his hard heart. The pair spent the nights together, away from the eyes of the other prides of Qyrre. It wasn't long until Usafi became pregnant with little Ebony, Sumu decided the cub should stay with Usafi, as Qyrre was the best place for Ebony to grow up, but he would always watch over her from a distance. When Ebony was born everyone was slightly scared of her dark colourings, and shunned her and Usafi. They could live in Qyrre, but they would not socialize with anyone, as Usafi had broken the law and bred with an outcast.

Ebony had quite a happy life, even though she never got to play with other cubs, she was quite happy with her mother. She would meet Sumu every now and again, and talk too him, she never knew he was her father, but she had an inkling. He would always be cold with her, not wanting too get her into trouble.

One unfortunate day Usafi tried teaching Ebony how to use her poison powers, but things went wrong and Ebony ended up killing her mother. The felines of Qyrre saw and tried dragging Ebony away to confinement in the cave like her father had been, but Sumu burst through to save his daughter, the last words she heard him shout we 'Run'. She didn't take another second and pelted away from the world she'd known into the unknown lands. The little cub ran so long and so fast, when she knew she was safe she collapsed into sleep. Ebony awoke with water being splashed on her face by a large male lion, she looked up too see Kadu, and the new lands she'd call her home.
