Ok... so did you have a vision first, or did you just lay out the watercolor and start to pick shapes out of it until it looked like something recognizable and then pushed it into something complete?
*I love using the picking-shapes-out-of-randomness technique.*

I like this very much, the tones of the gray are just right. And everything is done so very naturally it seems almost a coincidence the image appeared, very nice

When you say "lamp black watercolor" do you mean a specific color of standard watercolor paint or a different kind of paint?

just a specific color, it's one in a set of tubes. I only mention it because i'm so used to just using ivory black and mars black that it stood out to me.
