Description Scene 1 of an untitled zelda project. storyboard here: [link]

One of the problems with being turned into a deku scrub, a small woodland creature with short legs and a big snout, is the loss of essential walking skills. I've never done a character with such strange legs before. It was fun! (though a grueling number of hours)

I'm going to change Tatl (the fairy) so she notices the gate leading to outside the town, and then speeds off in that direction. Here, she's just speeding forward without real reason. I kinda did the fairy quick like because it was getting to be 4:00 in the morning n all. Kinda looks a bit TOO hyper . . . like she's on drugs, or worse: sugared cereal.

You are very good at this kind of animation! Why dont you do a full animated short film of your own characters? Make some $ that way

The exact thing I expect of you. Awesome. Did you stop the storyboard short, or what? It kinda seemed like a weird ending. But thus is great. ^_^ Link! I havn't playing the mask game, but I get it! :3

larkinheather In reply to Tobimas [2004-12-11 07:16:06 +0000 UTC]

Well, about the storyboard . . . I just wanted a small opportunity to draw Link. Basically. That's all. I just wanted a really short scene and that's the one I really wanted to do. I could have chosen a fight scene, or a dramatic scene, but I really just wanted to show how cute little Link is!

Thankyou I'm currently trying to get a hold of Flash, and some decent doodle tools, but hopefully, once I figure out how to use everything I could start animating again Have you ever tried any stopframe animation?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

larkinheather In reply to Dark-Cobweb [2004-12-11 07:20:54 +0000 UTC]

I have tried a few times when I was younger, with stuffed animals and legos. Never with clay though . . . It looks like a lot of fun.

Dark-Cobweb In reply to larkinheather [2004-12-11 11:23:13 +0000 UTC]

It is, especially when you see what you can really do with it...such as the animation is something such as The Nightmare Before Christmas I did alot a few years ago, but the camera was a really bad quality

zombiehunter [2004-12-09 20:09:45 +0000 UTC]

perfect! Just like a real animated Zelda movie... he moves so realistically.
Are you gonna make the rest of it, just like on the storyboard? It would be incredible.

i've watched this twice... and still cant get enough of it ... this is truly the work of animator! eventho only a few sec of walking scene.. but dam... its not juz ordinary walking...
Its kinda tricky to see the butterfly flying around which only panning the object yeah it works well, but i think it could use few frames for animating the wings... i think it will look better...
but i still love the when he is walking... is da best!

larkinheather In reply to daklewijd [2004-12-08 20:07:05 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! You're very right about the fairy thing. As I do the next scenes, I'm definetely going to put more effort into her wing movement. Then I can go back and edit it. BTW the fairy wasn't motion tweened. I "inserted keyframe" and animated it by hand. Motion tweening can be TOO perfect ofr my taste. Anyways. Thanks again ^__^

LOL. No, no no. There's no programs for animation at my school. I do animation during my free time (and my should-be-studying-time, as well). But I'd like to go to an animation school after I graduate. If you're interested in animation school, maybe you should check out this other guy's page: *basakward . He went to an art school.

wow, this is good. do u like animate straightahead? cos i cant seem to get myself used to animating in flash due the my terrible control with the brush in flash. >_<
the bacgroud is nice. and the movement of link is great too. o_O couldnt have done any better myself if i did try xD
love the stumbling movement when he's trying to get on the steps

i just saw ur animatic storyboard. looking forward for more xD
gah, i couldnt even get myself to spend an hour or two animatiing >_< wat a failure i am. T_T

larkinheather In reply to escar [2004-12-06 17:29:30 +0000 UTC]

Well, sometimes I just do straight forward animation, and other times I use keyframes. I like doing straight ahead, but it can get messy very quickly: such as heads shrinking (or exploding) and other proportionality disasters. This was straight ahead.

I'm itching to start the next . . . got to get through the homework.

Don't give up on animation!!! It really really does take a long time to do, but you gotta stick to it and edit it, reedit it, and reedit it and reedit it and (you get the idea). Never comes out perfect the first time.

escar In reply to larkinheather [2004-12-06 17:35:38 +0000 UTC]

yea animation is love.
