Spyro art. Will get back to doing scenes from the first trilogy, but this one had a mind of its own, so I obeyed. I like it. Rain is fun.(c) Spyro to Universal Studios

Spyro looks great here! I like his pose and all the details in the rain. It's really cool how you made it seem like the water is splashing onto his wings and scales like that. And the colors are just right for a rainy day scene like this

(Hero's Tail has Spyro's third element being water... perhaps that's why he can breathe underwater? In any case, it's an underused fact in my opinion.)
I like the expression here. Very much that confidence and determination Classic Spyro has. Legends Spyro is still determined, but you get the sense that he would rather have a peaceful life - while Classic Spyro loves the thrill!

- well he's been able to "breathe" underwater since Ripto's Rage. I mean, I know of no other way he could go through Aquaria Towers.

Yeah. My thought is, he's had the element of water for longer than he's been able to use it as a breath weapon. The nascent water is what lets him breathe underwater.
I actually had fun with that, in a fic I'm doing which crosses Classic Spyro with Legends Spyro. Legends Spyro, Cynder, both Hunters and Bianca take the rafts downriver to the waterfall in Dawn of the Dragon... Classic Spyro swims. And goes fishing, too.
