I'm not sure what the message is supposed to be here. I am an America convert to Islam. I don't think all of American culture is contradictory to Islam, however the Western and especially American culture is constantly pushed on the rest of the world and oppresses other cultures, and, in this case, religions.
But Muslims are not anti-American because of Islam, but rather they do not agree with some of the ideologies and the secular culture.

As a mainland American-born Latino/Hispanic male of the descendants of Adam and Eve(pbut) and raised to believe I was Catholic and usually spent time around other Catholics but occasionally those of the other denominations of "Christendom" as well I must disagree with much of the logic therein regarding the relationship between God, to Who all praise is ultimately due, and Jesus(pbuh) who was the slave servant prophet messenger in this life of the formerβas I believe his special assignment, like all true prophets, was from God Himself.
One thing I must say, having spent 2/3 of my life as a Christian, albeit the existence of the clichΓ© "'Good' and 'Bad' are found in all peoples" I must say that when the subject of conversation became Islamβof all good things I have experienced in this life none rewards me with a flow of love and remembrance in my heart of God as I've experienced via the utilization of IslamβI find it is met with sharp, ignorant words interjected in a fashion to simply hurt and provoke an equally ignorant retaliation no matter how long it takes because when all is said and done most of them are hard-hearted and didn't want to genuinely learn anything about Islam in the first place or the last. But many do wish to know more, and we find Islam alluring. The recognition of the sphere of influence in even the most mundane of actions as echoing out as reward or retribution for all time to comeβeven the intentions judged by God. And He is a just GodβHe doesn't lead people to believe another can pay for my sins, I'm not afraid to say that that is a grave injustice of reality and logic for which God, I believe, is incapable. There are many biblical references that dissuade me from believing in God-ship being a duet, trinity, quartet or anything but one. A lot of us whom accept Islam feel like we were Muslim all along... its odd, but it's how I feel as well. God knows best.
I have read the translation of qur'aan 5 1/2 times since the first time, alhamdulillah. It only took the first to have this inquisitively skeptical mind to accept Islam. Right [about 2 weeks] before I did I'd declared myself a "Unitarian Christian"βfor the Oneness of God is the fulcrum upon which rests ALL of Islam. This, to me and anyone whom believe in the All-Mighty Most-High, this is quite important. Of all things my brother from the seed of Adam and Eve, Jesus(pbut), would have never claimed to be Godβthat convolution of the truth comes after The Gospel.
I found a peace with Islam I never had calling myself Christian... and I think the person I see in the mirror today is much better. God knows best.

As it turns out Islam is very respectful and reverent toward women. However, in fundamentalism, the goals of religion are lost. Just take Christian Fundamentalism for example. If you read the biblical Gospels without reading later on in the Bible and without dogma, Jesus mostly sounds like a man with 1) a gift from God. 2) intentions of mixing Humanism and Judaism. However, fundamentalists make Jesus sound like a tyrant with an inferiority complex. All that aside... Fundamentalism is fundamentalism is fundamentalism. Some people are just too obsessed on religion.
