Description
I have skills in erasing things that I worked hard to write. It was a nice little description, too...So yeah, I spent around twenty hours on this over the past six days. I made this for, and was shown the reference by, =EtherealPanda For many, many reasons :3 Okay uhm so yeah and yeah so ham and stuff...

Comments don't have to be massive long to carry across the msesage, I just like to know that people didn't look at it for five seconds and then look away, 'cause what's the point of putting it on the internet if no one is really going to look at the thing I spent so long to make?

Thats so freaking awesome. The shading so smooth, you can hardly tell that it was done with pencil.
I love the eyes, as usual, and the shading on the clothes looks so realistic.

Well dang, I am pleasantly surprised. Wow Laura, seriously. Don't take this as an insult, but I am used to the flaws standing out at me straight away with your portraits (you know how critical I am) but there were none. Upon fullviewing, I saw that again, nothing stood out like a sore thumb. I found myself fully open to take in his solemn expression and also to admire your wondrous pencil work.
His pudgy little face has a painful amount of pale midtones, but you've tackled them as masterfully as the soft planes of his shirt (I usually slack off on the clothing). I can't see pencil strokes anywhere, which is very pleasing, yet I can still tell it is pencil, so it has charm just right there.
You've done individual eyelashes! I don't even do that 
I must ask, do you draw out the basic shapes before shading them in, or do you just draw it as it comes? For it to be this fine, surely some fore-planning comes into it. If you do sketch the basic shapes first, you need to leave a space of time between the outline sketch and when you start shading in. Upon coming back to your sketch with a presumably clear mind, you are hopefully able to see any proportionate flaws that would have emerged and can fix them before shading 
Such a good job. I definitely see all the effort you put in to it. A fave from me!

I'm used to the flaws, too, but I'm glad you're nice enough to not point them out 
I usually draw basic shapes first, though I like to shade the eyes soon after that 'cause I am addicted to drawing them. Since I only had bits of the day to draw this, I did leave it a lot and come back to it later.
