So I guess I put a little more effort on detailing here but I'm not happy with it something just doesn't feel right and I don't know whatCriticism is always welcome.
The cat/feline idea was totally inspired from Powl96

Great job adding the emotion with the dark colors and contrasting light. The dark colors and the lights plus the faded trees give a lot of mystery into the piece. Though I think you could have place some lighting in some places. If the light from the river (if what I'm assuming about it is correct) is that bright, there should be at least some light on the rocks to the right. And the trees in the background, if they are like the one in plain view, I'd suggest putting some vines in there as well like you did with the main tree. They also seem to be lacking any branches, as the front one has them kind of low on.
If fog is what you had in mind, you might want to practice with fog or at least make them less opaque. It messes with the smoothness of the clear picture.

At first glance, I admit, this is wicked good! I like the dark ambience. It suggests the malaise that begins with a misstep... and continues with a spine-tingling chill.
I enjoy the step-wise tree bark texture best of all.

I think it's a very good piece of conceptual art, and certainly worthy. I feel that if the background and its texture were blurred and darkened, it might give a greater sense of perspective and atmosphere.

Hm, I think the problem about the detailing here is that you used kinda random brushstrokes and textures. Details and Textures are there to give more focus on important parts and can help to make the form more readable. On the big tree it doesn't really look for me like your strokes are following the flow of the bark. Maybe take a look at some photos to see how you can achieve a look that feels more like what you want?
And maybe try to go deeper into the topic of values as well. You loose some depth because the trees (?) in the background are nearly as dark as the foreground. If you keep them lighter, your main center of interest will be much more in focus

I really love the way this looks! I would maybe harden the lines towards the top of the tree but thats just me. Other than that It looks really great. Also, I think the cat really adds to the "story" of the piece. Keep up the awesome work!

I think that the two trees behind the cat have to be sharper than the other ones: it seems that they aren't as far as the trees on the left.
But the athmosphere is wonderful
