Heh. I like to water my acrylics the hell down so that they look like watercolors, while still retaining that extra brightness that watercolors can tend to lose.
And yeah, now that you mention it, the 'muddy' is what I've seen before that I just don't like. It's all subdued. There's good subdued, but then for me, there's AWESOME vibrant, you know?

Hey, thanks! (As you can tell, the feeling's mutual... I like how YOU paint)
I much prefer watered down acrylics to watercolors-- you can paint light to dark AND dark to light, which I don't know if you can do with watercolors? No idea. And for wood, I feel like acrylics tend to take to the grain and stay better.
