Wow. You make oils look hellaciously vibrant! That's fantastic! I'd have guessed acrylic, but no! ^_^ YAY

Oil has much more vibrant than acrylic because it has true pigments, just some people muddy up their oil by not properly using it. I don't like acrylic because it always looks plasticy when I use it.

Anyway, thank you so much!!

Heh. I like to water my acrylics the hell down so that they look like watercolors, while still retaining that extra brightness that watercolors can tend to lose.

And yeah, now that you mention it, the 'muddy' is what I've seen before that I just don't like. It's all subdued. There's good subdued, but then for me, there's AWESOME vibrant, you know?

Yeah the only time I think acrylics work is used as permanent watercolors. I want to try to paint subtly sometime but not in midtones, I think a lot of people don't know how to paint subdued and end up with a midtone mess

Oh and I like how you paint!! I've been experimenting with watercolors just for quick little studies, so kinda similar, but man it's hard!

Hey, thanks! (As you can tell, the feeling's mutual... I like how YOU paint)

I much prefer watered down acrylics to watercolors-- you can paint light to dark AND dark to light, which I don't know if you can do with watercolors? No idea. And for wood, I feel like acrylics tend to take to the grain and stay better.
