Description The only available water in this area is salt water. Drinking water must be brought in and stored in large, above ground tanks. When the subdivision was being developed, people that bought homes and land here were promised that clean water would be made available to them. However, that promise was never fulfilled. This is one the many photos that I took of a small, abandoned apartment building in one of the subdivisions.

Well that sucks. How do you not provide clean water.

There's nothing but salt-water out there. I think it was the 30s hurricane that did that. Same thing all along hwy 48.... Since the subdivision is so far out of Brownsville, the city did not (could not?) supply their water. The developer(s) promised to provide and never did. The peeps that are living there now have huge tanks of water in their front yard.
