Thanks! The eyelash vipers are pretty docile but this mom seems to extremely laid back. Of course, she's probably exhausted from giving birth! You can see a video that was taken shortly afterwards on Jim's blog. [link] "

Ah don't worry i am sometimes lacking in replies due to work and college >.< i work every single day.

I watched the vid while in college and i got mixed reactions lol half the class say it is so sweet and half the class pretty much ran out the room. Who can hate snakes they are so beautiful!

I think that's one of the reasons we have so much stress. We try to too much. Jim is going to think that it's so cool that you watched the vid in class. The snakes definitely get mixed reactions. Thanks again!

Thats what I never asked you, how do you get the babies away from their moms?

Jim uses a hook (which IMO could be MUCH longer) to reach in and lift the babies out. Fortunately, the eyelash vipers are calm and don't attempt to strike very often.

When he cleans the cages of the arboreal snakes, he hooks (again, longer hook would be NICE) the snake, branch and all, and moves it to a safe location.

well, i don't even know how long the hook is, but i agree, it could be much longer. lol i'm so amazed at how calm he is around them. i guess it comes from all that time dealing with them. for the record, i would still be terrified. lol

I know! Jim is very calm. I guess it is all of the years of experience with the snakes that give him the calm. He was already like this when I met him.
