This is my first (finished) fan-art of Shippou.Okay, two sides to this one:
1) I wanted a piece of the EVER-SO popular "Temple of the Dog" series of fanarts that I've seen so much of.
2) I got inspired by the ToTD series to do an Ancient Egyptian story of my own centered around one of my favorite Micheal Jackson songs.
I love to write so just about ANYTHING will inspire me.
I wanted to draw my version of an older Shippou. I imagine him as 18, but I guess he could pass for 16
I hand drew the drawing, and ALL the rest I did in Photoshop CS2. Thing that took me so long was the necklace Shippou's wearing. I had planned to just leave it as a plain gold band, but it kept bugging me as "incomplete"So for the last two hours, I PAINTED the jewels in and I feel so DAMN proud of myself. However, I would truly appreciate some feedback on that. Constructive criticism if you please
As for the background, that's as good as I get for right now. Personally I like it. It actually looks like sand.
This was also an exercise on drawing the hand like that since I wanted to get more practice with hands. Since I had no models, I used my own hand. And let me tell ya, holding your left hand in that position for 10-15 minutes is HELL!! But it does compel you to draw fast!
Okay, this one I'd like to dedicate to Urd-chan-san for starting the whole "Temple of the Dog" craze!

As the saying goes, better late than never. I've been away from DA for the most part for the past year or so - not because of choice, but because after numerous upgrades they've done over the years, my old Mac just couldn't keep up. Well, I've left the stone age and now have a newer computer (although not brand-new), so hopefully I'll not only be more active here again, but can get back to writing and art.
Okay, what can I say about this one? Shippou looks awesome, and I bow down to you for your ability to foreshorten. It's great!
Thanks for taking time to draw something from my story. Perhaps I can be inspired to get back to writing the story (and maybe the formatting won't disappear when I upload the chapters to Mediaminer if I write it on the new compie).

Beautiful work on this! I love the pose and his expression - great job with foreshortening (his hand reaching towards us). I also especially love how the gold and jewels - and mostly his eyes - sparkle. Again, beautiful work on this! I'm truly honored that you felt inspired to draw something from my fanfic, "Temple of the Dog". (Of course, in the story, Shippou is having delusions of power, thinking that they might make HIM a deity, too. His youkai power might be just what it takes to make him a very special priest, though.)
Anyway, I'm going to have to wait until I'm on another computer to fave this one. Every time DA upgrades the site, my computer is locked out of more and more things. I'm on an ancient Mac where I can't fave, full-view, access forums, or about a million other things. I'm saving the link to this, though, so I can fave it the next time I'm on another computer. Thanks again!

HAHA! Shippo's eyes look like jewels too, huh? That was my objective. I ADORE the way you can just mess with eyes in anime and make them look so beautiful!
Sadly, I haven't had the chance to actually read "Temple of the Dog", but I've heard VERY good reviews about it. I'd been on my own quest to write just ONE fanfiction that has me famous on the internet...and "I'm Goin' To Miami" (Mir/San) seems to be it. HAHA!! But anyway, that's a shame about your computer, Urd-chan-san. I would think when DA upgrades it wouldn't screw anyone over.....

Btw: That also inspired me to create an Inuyasha Ancient Egypt fanfic of my own, but I'm perfectionist of sorts so it'll be a while before I upload it.
