Hi! I'm glad your finding this useful!
1. I use Photoshop Elements (because I'm too cheap to pay for the full version)
2. For the base color I would use a larger brush, maybe 20 pt or something? Just make sure it's an entirely opaque brush. For the shadows/highlights ect, use something just a little smaller, somewhere from 8pt to 14 pt. This brush can have a more air-brush like quality to soften the look.
Is this helpful?

I need some help and i'm having a hard time making it nice like yours.....
oh and do you mind if i ask another question?
what opacity should i have the brush when i am doing the shadows and highlights.
Where should most of the light in clothing should be?
and one last question, Where should i put the wrinkles in cloth
ing?
sorry for asking soo many questions and bothering you.

No problem at all!

For the shadows you can do a few different things. You could:
1. Fill in the entire figure on another layer with black or another dark color thats at an opacity of about 50% or so, then erase the areas that are not in shadow
2. put in all the shadows at full opacity in whatever colors you want them, then take your eraser down to maybe 50% and erase over each shadowed area.

For highlights, always use a lighter opacity, like 20% or less.

When placing highlights and shadows, always decide on where your light source is first! If your figure is sitting somewhere, decide where the sun, or a lightbulb of some sort would be. The highlights should always be on the edge/side closest to that light, and the shadows should be away from where the light is.
Always keep in mind that the figure is a three-dimensional shape, so if it would help, maybe try drawing objects in real life to help you figure out how light would fall on them, and where she shadows should be.
Another thing to keep in mind with light on clothing is what kind of material your trying to represent. A soft fabric like cotton wouldn't reflect much light, while something like satin or even velvet would reflect much more, because of it's super-smooth texture.

Wrinkles on clothes is a much longer subject, but here are some tutorials that I've found useful:

I hope that helps!
