Description
First of three paintings focused on a b/w photograph for Painting class. I was very happy to use a photo I took of a lionfish at the New England Aquarium, and was a great subject to work on!

Oddly enough, in critique, there was a general consensus that all three paintings were contenders for 'most skillful', 'most daring', and 'best use of color' in our 'Mock Awards' considering the quality of the paintings people created. Even if in pretend 'awards', I am still a little flabbergasted to see that so many people thought of my work as highly as they seemed to, including the teacher.

This was painted in monochrome Cadmium Red Medium (hue). I could work on it more in the future, but thought I put it here in case I never get around to it. And the image was drawn on with the help of a projector - otherwise, I don't think this painting would exist right now, haha!
