I gave Kerbal Space Program a try over this past week and it is easily one of the most fun games I have played in years. However on my first attempt to land a kerbonaut on one of the planets moons I did, rather unfortunately, leave the brave Gergas Kerman stranded on the Mun. The only reasonable course of action was to assemble a rescue team (complete with a rover for when I inevitably landed too far away) and send them to bring him home. So far the mission is going okay.Related content

Remind yourself to not land on a slope, or even build a rocket that can fall over upon seconds after landing.

Excellent advice. I've also learned not to try and land at night as it's a little hard to avoid giant crater slopes in the dark...

Indeed it is. It's like space Lego but then you get to fly the rockets you built (or more often than not, watch them explode on the launchpad).

I love this game!
Except I keep blowing stuff up spectacularly. Not getting the hang of this 'navigation' thing or even the 'not spiraling into the ocean within 60 seconds of lift-off' thing.
