Still on Earth-1, we meet Sandra Gage. A very adept user of Fae Magic, protector of the forest and the innocent...The Sage.

To understand Sandra’s origins, we first have to understand a bit of Earth’s ancient history. Millions of years ago, long before hominid creatures evolved, the Earth was watched over by two Aethereal siblings, Neraephem and Archaem. The two siblings spent most of their time debating the nature of existence, always trying to surpass the other. Eventually, the siblings reached a point where competition began to grow stale. They had already carved canyons in the earth, raised mountains, created seas and instilled a competitive spirit in all of Earths creatures. This left only one task for the siblings, a competition to see who could create the most successful race. Archaem drew power from the Earth and Seas to create a race of Athereals called the Daemonii, while Neraephem called upon the forests and beasts of Earth to create the Fae. From these two races came two matriarchs, the Daemonii Queen Baphomet and the Fae Queen Morrigan. Each would produce their own offspring, leading to the diversity of Daemons and Faeries that we see today.

In keeping with their creators competitive nature, the Daemonii and the Fae naturally began to compete and war with one another for dominion over the spiritual essence of the Earth. This war became so intense that it caused the continents to drift into their current locations. To keep the Earth from being torn apart, Baphomet and Morrigan would attempt to broker a truce in the form of an exchange of sons. Baphomet offered her son Pan, Prince of Debauchery and Morrigan offered her son Lucifer, Prince of Light. This exchange of sons brought an end to their war and the truce between the two, albeit weak, remains to this day.

Currently, the Daemonii and the Fae hold tightly to their assigned roles and natures. The Daemonii generally have dominion over the affairs of mortals, particularly pertaining to wealth, luck, love, conflict and natural processes like decay and reincarnation. The Fae hold dominion over the natural world, particularly the seasons, life cycles, plant and animal life and the transportation of spirits. Each is incredibly powerful, with different individuals having a mastery over a certain domain. For example, the Daemonii within Demidemon, Gretyloth the Culling, is responsible for preparing the souls of the dead for reincarnation, following their judgement by Anubis.

This is where Sandra comes in. Her story begins on the streets as a troubled youth, bouncing from group home to group home, never able to find a stable environment. Eventually, Sandra grew sick of the game and decided to live on the streets, to take her life into her own hands. Unfortunately, this did not go as she’d planned. One horrible night, Sandra gets abducted off the streets by mysterious characters in a van. She never discussed what happened to her. Later that night, Sandra is thrown from the van, abandoned and left for dead in the woods.

Feeling the life draining from her, Sandra is approached by an entity from the forest. A dark, shadowy winged figure with piercing green eyes...”poor, sweet child..” said the figure, “oh the cruelty of Man, no end does it know. To snuff the flame of a Mother’s Daughter, to slander the Green itself.” From the darkness, the figure summoned three glowing seeds, placing them upon Sandra’s chest. “From this seed, you shall grow anew. From the Green, you shall be reborn a goddess among men. Come, my child, let me show you the way.” With the figures last word, a vibrant green energy erupted from the seeds, flowing into Sandra. As she awakens, the plant life around her begins to sway and dance with her every move..Sandra is no longer a scared little girl on the streets..now, she has the ability to tap into a source of power unlike any humanity has seen, the magic of the Fae. For now, Sandra dabbles mostly in her advanced Chlorokinetic abilities, but she will gradually learn that she’s capable of far more than even the most practiced of Magic wielders. Sandra Gage is no more, she is now, forevermore...The Sage.
