Description
Back before the Skitarii codex came out, the Skitarii mentioned in the fluff (particularly the Ciaphas Cain books) were mostly comprised of tech-guard, basically Imperial Guard Stormtroopers with bionics. While the codex’s army is cool and all, I am slightly disappointed that there wasn’t any representation of the more basic foot soldiers that we’ve read about. So, I have a theory: The codex represents just the specialists, the wackier and more outlandish stuff the Skitarii field. The rank and file tech-guard of old are still around, you just represent them with Tempestus Stormtroopers, which fit the function perfectly, and the aesthetic with hardly any conversion work.

This also served as another excuse to play a little outside my blue and grey comfort zone.
