Is a commission based in historical armour references, so I suppose that the concept artist from Dragon Age, like me, used some real references for the game .
These armours were inspired in typical armour design, you can find a lot of drawings with characters with similar armours and a lot of real references.
So no, anyone tell me that these armours looks "Pretty" much like Dragon Age's. Now go to the creators of Dragon Age telling them that their armour design looks a lot like this:
