Description A massive, heavily fortified and armed Fire Support Base made in a manner that it will usually be a permanent resident of that continent.
Concept by me, 3D artist and renderer is Avitus12. Please go support him and his work. He really is a talented artists that deserves more attention. To save money, I simply asked him to render only the gun and its ammo facilities.

To reiterate, I'm not posting these works done by those I pay to do'em for any sort of fame, glory, etc.. I always ask if I can post a copy of the work on my profile to expand on my original universe's galleries, like a picture book/journal to reference.

Shockwave Acapella - A recoil and motor powered gatling artillery piece. With a sixty meter base with three 200 meter barrels of 10 meters diameter bore, this massive weapon uses the massive recoil when the top barrel fires to push back the receiver into a locked position as it rotates to the first of three ammo belts. It fires a specialized shell called the 'Hydrogen Eater.'

The first section will load a massive containment, hollow shell divided into two sections. On the back of the shell for extra boost during flight is a scram jet engine. Following this area is the second ammo belt that loads a container holding a highly unstable yet relatively harmless gas compound into the back half of the shell. When rotated back to the top position upon the third barrel's firing, the section of the casing is filled with an energized battery shell. The shell is then sealed off automatically and the massive receiver slides the shell forward into the chamber. The shell is then fired out like a traditional artillery shell. Mid-flight, the scram jet engine activates to achieve speeds around Mach 19. Once impact or designated flight time has been reached the battery sends a power surge through the gas container causing its contents to rapidly destabilize. The resulting explosion is large enough to consume a square of four city-blocks in a fireball hotter than the sun but that is hardly the end. Upon exploding, the hydrogen compounds in the air are a delectable treat for the unstable gases and so the explosion greedily expands, turning a 150 meter explosion into a kilometer wide blast in a seconds. The charged gases themselves have a half-life of ten seconds. By the time they all die out, reverting the nature of the explosion to that of a regular one, it can consume an area of ten kilometers in diameter before dissipating.

The cannon sits on an elevator column to raise its base up high enough that the cannon can get an angle on targets within three miles of the wall, or lower to keep its main profile below the wall and safer from attacks outside the wall. The ammo belts can detach and withdraw themselves to allow the cannon to lower enough that the hole above can seal itself shut to protect it against bombers, etc. when it's not in use. Under ground around the elevator column are rings of cranes and rail tracks to allow the cannon to replace its barrels in relative safety and/or repair itself.

Cannon traversal speed: (Up to resting at 90 degrees- 10 seconds. Down to minus 15 degrees- 5 seconds). Cannon rotation speed- 360 degrees, twenty seconds.

Firing Speed: 10 rounds per minute, varies if acquiring different targets.

Ammo capacity. Single shot with a short five round magazine attached, capable of operating independently if the ammo belt is detached. Ammo houses contain 120 of each third of the shell.

Firing Range: Continental-Intercontinental (3-8000 terrestrial miles), Geosynchronous orbit (Shells can break out of orbit, so once that happens, their range is essentially unlimited until it slams into something like the moon, a ship, asteroid, comet, etc. through either ungodly amounts of calculations with/without divine luck, or sheer stupid luck.

Shell velocity: Mach 19-30 Varies greatly depending on planetary influence.

Wall height: 60 meters, width: 20-60 meters (top to base), Diameter: 650 meters

Outside, the 60 m wall is very thick and is watched over by four massive bunkers at each cardinal direction. In each bunker sits two rows of five 35'' conveyor belt fed cannons with a range of 50 terrestrial miles and can hit targets as close up as 500 meters outside of the wall. Their rate of fire is 20 rounds per minute with a velocity of Mach 8. On each of these bunkers sits a single 5 meter class (5mx5mx5m) Shockwave Sentinel turret equipped with energy shielding. Behind it sits a radar sphere to direct AA screens and triangulate coordinates for the bunkers' artillery cannons' fire support missions.

The small bunkers between these with the three 5m class Shockwave Sentinels on top within a large foxhole are armored fortresses in their own rights as they house the base's garrisons of troops and armor such as recon trucks and tanks as well as acting as sectional command bunkers and hospitals. There are even open slits a little bit from the top that are hangars for fighter and attack aircraft.

Ground level between the bunkers are a variety of different support positions. The two in the back act as missile silos for close-range bombardment of enemies outside the wall or in the opposite direction of the Shockwave Acapella's muzzles. They have an effective range of 1-1000 miles depending on the missile used, targeting either fortified bunkers, open enemy positions or even flights of aircraft. The three circular buildings in front of them act mostly as pillboxes in the case of an enemy breaking through the wall, as well as secondary entrances into the complexes underground.

Base garrisons: Skeleton crew- 2,000, Combat readiness- 8,000, Wartime bolstering- 11,000
Trucks and armored units: 100-300
Aircraft: 50-100

Could this in the future be a mobile platform for the Behemoth Land Dreadnought MK2  atop the turret  or War Train Car?
