Yet another painting of Emma in the hopes that I can do her justice.A class assignment this time, and the first requiring the use of Corel Painter 11. I have to say, it is an entirely different animal from Photoshop in many ways. Need to really get more used to the different shortcut keys and layouts...

I'm still using Painter 3 even though I have 10.. not sure how 11 handles but a tank would describe 10 well too... of course, being lazy is half my problem...

And Corel is a tough one. I used to swear up and down on it. Now that I have SAI, I don't know where to start with Corel...

I agree, taking the reins on Corel is like learning to drive a tank, it's not easy, but with lecturers we got by. It's good to at least know how to use the different tools in it, just in case.
And I used to use SAI as well! I know that it beats Photoshop flat when it comes to making great linework, but I'm too used to Photoshop to use SAI again. D=

And man oh man; I swear up and down on SAI. I'm sure if I had Photoshop at my disposal, I would come to terms with it. But alas, I'm broke, and that crap is expensive!
I could REALLY use a Lecture on Corel. I usually just mess around with the numerous pens and brushes, but I'm so used to the easy layout of SAI, it's hard to convert...:C

Well you could find some tutorials online about how to use Painter. But it also involves know-how on how traditional tools like acrylics or oils work.
And there's always torrents for Photoshop! But you never heard that from me. XDD

And there lies my problem... T_T My knowledge of media other than Digital is next to nothing. Colored pencil and ink sure. Specialized media, not so much.
