so this is toothless's intact tail fin, i have WIP shots if anyone wants them otherwise it is the same as the prosthetic fin i made just different fabric and camo markings.still gotta do his other top of tail ones..

hi there, i used a type of boning used in hoop skirts, it was a 5 mm plastic tube, with a little bend to it.. hard to explain, i got it from a plastics company.
i then made the bones longer than needed so that the extra bone could wedge into the tail , i sandwiched it in a glued it in and then when the fabric went on i also attached with hand sewing.

I used wire eventually and bias binded it in, worked really well, thanks for the reply
