Description I really admire the high resolution CG art of Sephiroth and I wanted to try and paint a picture that contained that level of detail but I didn't want to paint the same image, so I chose a scene from Advent children complete and used that as the basis for the composition.

How did you create the awesome texture of the metal shoulders? It's wonderful!

It's painted using the original CG art as a guide for colour etc. In the lowest shoulder pad if you look closely in the shadow area you can see where I've painted a square and then copied it across a few times to help cover the area.

Ahh, very useful and inventive there. Never would have guessed that. I actually, with my newest Vincent Valentine picture, found out that the dodge and burn tools also make some really good metal effects that have an extreme light source.

Now one more question; how did you make the irises of his eyes so well?

With eyes - I paint them big and put bright colours in and then blend them, and I'll use photo references to help me.

Try looking at this tutorial by dianae as on the eye section you can see the bright colours she used. [link]
