Erm...I have only one question...where do I start with making it? I know how to make cosplays but..sometimes when they kinda have a lot on...I have NO idea where to begin.
And I've asked for help before but I never really got any advice for it. Got any tips to a desperate cosplayer wanting to do Dynasty Warriors? And I promise not ask anymore questions!

If it helps, I've got an LJ of his progress -> [link] (I was documenting two other costumes with it, so please forgive me if it gets a little confusing)
The number one tip I can give you is to look beyond the detail! Under all those fancies is a very basic outfit. I find drawing it - without all the gold and swirls to distract you - helps a lot. It's a lot less daunting once you know the base garment you've got to make, and just slowly add the details.

About the chest armor...what did you use? I was thinking craft foam (that's what people usually make armor from) but it looks kinda different.
I will DEFINITELY take that advice and draw Sun Ce basic first!

If you don't like this technique, I've seen some Japanese cosplayers just use fabric with wadding underneath, and the muscles sewn into it. Hahaa, I imagine that would be a lot more comfortable!

I bought it from a second-hand shop-fitter's store for $50... I understand they're obscenely expensive new. Bwahaha, felt like a perv checking all the bodies out for the one with the most defined - and symmetrical - muscles.

The gold on the tunic is just appliqued foil lame; and the gold on the breastplate is layered craft foam, covered with a heap of paint and varnish.
